when the Police tried “deep cover infiltration” of the rave scene in the mid 1990s, several young detectives had to be “invalided out” of the Force on “medical grounds” when in fact they had just got so much into the drugs and partying that they were now useless as Police officers!

now when you see CID at raves they are often chaperoned by an older officer in his or her 40s of senior rank…

lmao. Yeah i was in a club in the mid-90s and these blokes suddenly appeared wearing tanktops and ties, and it was like 3am and sweltering hot. They just walked about doing nothing. They were in their 40s i’d say, probably not trusting their younguns to do the job.

its like the “Forward Intelligence Team” of cops and photographers that watches you at marches/demos/meetings if you are any sort of political activist. They are supposed to be “undercover” but although they don’t always wear Police uniforms they are really obvious in their actions.

There role is clearly more to remind activists they are being scrutinised than to covertly gather information..

Its hilarious – until you consider how much public money was spent to train these cops..

we had exactly the same in France…those not taking drugs were so easy to identify, that they had to take some to keep undercovered : )…and some of them had a kind of “revelation”,I guess(LSD sometimes helps…)

In the 90’s I even knew a mashed up party goer who managed his exams to work for customs;he had the best quality drugs for FREE…until he was caught, dealing hundreds of pills during a party…

They are never/rarely undercover nowadays….this is how they tend to do it. Its a video taken at the opening of a womble’s social centre showing the fit team.

Every time I’ve met them which is a fair few now they have come like that. Big cameras right up in your face no hiding. It gets annoying when your on site and want to go for a piss but you’ve got some twat (pardon my french) following you filming.

I got myself really scatted out a few weeks back at a legal event in Bristol, I’m convinced that I had CID chat to me, I was looking fairly messy so a likely target and this guy looked about 40ish in very casual clothes who wasnt dancing himself tapped me on the shoulder while i was dancing and was like whats your name, where you from, how long have you been raving for… my friend dragged me away before the ‘what drugs have you got on you’ question came… freaked me out, but then again could have just been that trusty old friend paranoia!
