It’s called willing suspension of disbelief. Red Dwarf isn’t meant to be some super scientifically accurate show, much like Bizarro world in superman isn’t meant to make much sense.
February 18, 2013 at 8:45 pm #1267376I know it’s not supposed to be but i’m just saying it’s flawed.

They can’t just pick bits of the backwards idea, if the whole universe was backwards, the whole universe would be backwards.
Love picking things to pieces, this is why I am the:

February 18, 2013 at 9:00 pm #1267377I meant everything in the universe, not just select things..

Do you remember the other T-shirt with Lister saying ‘Let’s get out there and twat it!’ from Polymorph?

yeah with the bassball bat, I hat all of them. Starbug one that said “crashed more times than a spectrum ZX81”
February 19, 2013 at 12:00 am #1267349You know chrag Charles was almost recast after series 1 2 3 and 4 cos of his no shows at the studio. Rob grant and doug nailor proper hated him for all the grief he would put them through (always around payday too) He has always been a bit of a junkie though.
Also Chris Barrie and Robert Lewelyn all auditioned for the part of lister and rimmer?? w
BTW when the opening came up to play the new kryten in series 3 they called lewelyn back and offered him the part.

Didn’t know that as it happens mate, I know he’s always been a bit of a fiend for crack and the like, but never knew he was nearly binned from the show for it. I think I’ve still got a copy of Craig Charles’s stand-up show somewhere – not the best exponent of stand-up you’ll ever see, but no doubt sold well due to his popularity back in the day.
Llewellyn did make a good Kryten man, the fella who played him in the ep from series 2 just didn’t have enough about him to carry it off.
February 19, 2013 at 10:43 am #1267350yeah the old kryten sucked big time, can’t remember his name either…
I remember seeing this poetry program with Craig Charles on it, I remember him standing behind this cardboard raindrop as he was saying his shit.
Also there this show called Cyberzone that was on bbc2 that was set round VR. I was always like “I wanna go on it” when I was like 9 or something. This is the only footage I can find of it. It was cancelled after one series
February 19, 2013 at 11:14 am #1267361I vaguely remember cyber zone, don’t think I ever watched it though. Seem to recall it being on on sundays around the same time as the show that had Dennis Pennis in it (may be wrong though).
