November 21, 2008 at 9:23 pm #1187339if people are getting genuinely abusive PM’s the correct thing to do is tell one of the mods about it. it doesn’t matter if the people involved are 14, 27, 35 or 50 its still wrong..
We do try to give people as much security as technically possible, as much as a “normal” telecoms company would (there are still risks particularly if surfing from work) and posting private messages on the forum defeats all this good work.
whatever rumours exist (and there is no proof) of what she has done out there in the real world it doesn’t matter for shit what our views are about “grassing”.
If anyone genuinely feels so concerned about the presence of a small child at a party that she thought the kid was “at risk” it is their human right to be able to call the cops or social services without risk of intimidation.
Of course she should have immediately left the event and then it would be then hypocritical for her to continue to attend unlicensed parties or associate with people what do so, but its perfectly possible she has done just this.
Anyone can get disillusioned with a group operating on the fringes of the law to the point where they turn against it. its worth remembering this and applying it to how we treat people whether or not we agree with all they say or do…

Bollox the kid was with its perents, we quite often have perents with young kids at our partys & festivals does that meen its ok for people to turn up and grass us everytime?
were travelers and thats how we live, your justyfing people ringing social services on us.

I have been to many raves in East Anglia and in SE England where young children/kids have been brought along by their parents and they have been perfectly safe. I don’t think I have ever seen a situation where the kids have been in any real danger. Some of these parents are friends of mine. Some live on sites, other live in settled accomodation.
there have been concerns expressed about kids being brought to some some parties in inner city London in less safe conditions.
if its a malicious allegation its wrong to waste the time of cops and social services in any case and an offence in itself, the parents have every right to make a counterclaim in this respect.
If there is a genuine concern for a kids safety it doesn’t matter who the fuck you are and how you live – travellers or settled people alike. the “life on mars” days have gone at least down south (don’t know what the North is like) and social services and cops here (apart from overworked London boroughs) usually can distinguish between malicious allegations and genuine risk situations.
