February 8, 2008 at 11:42 am #1154807Sorry – but if you were scammed – it was your own fault.
All employers are legally required to have Employee and Public Liability insurance – which covers you for accidents at work. There is also certain state benefits that cover you too.
So why would you need additional personal insurance ?
Also – the sum covered of £5,000 is extremely small – corporate insurance policies are normally in the £ millions of cover.

Calm your beans mate.
I think there are a fair few more obvious things than the liability insurance on there that indicate its a scam. I mean who pays in 360 money vouchers…or money to a business with only a mobile number and a gmail account.
Either way they are cunts but you’ve gotta be pretty stupid to be coughing up money to them.

February 8, 2008 at 12:30 pm #1154802Seems fair enough warning people, although to those who are naturally cynical it is easy to spot as a scam there are many in this country desperate for jobs and trying to keep up hope.
the saddest thing is that scum doing these things are often sadly from the same working class communities as the people they are preying on… its the “thatcho inspired” ethos of greed and sleaze.
this also appears to be trying to scam workers all across Europe as well, its not that common to show a phone number in international format unless you are expecting foreign people to telephone you..

Just like I also knew other appropriate legislation such as tax, health & safety, etc. etc.
It’s not like this information is secret – it’s freely available to anyone in government leaflets and publications, at government offices, or online.

Where i work now we hear of scams like this all the time. Its wierd because the scams used to be poorer countries trying to rip off ‘wealthy English people’. Now there is scams where people from England are scamming people from poorer countries. They get an email like this one promising them an amazing job with a ridiculous salary etc. All they have to do is send £2000+ and there passports, driving license so they can sort out there work permit and visa etc.
i had a call from this women the other day that had actually gone to the airport with this letter from the dodge company expecting to pick up her passport and workpermit from the immigration office and then move to her new life in England…Pretty harsh having to tell her she had been scammed
The more that people know about these scams the better i reckon…February 8, 2008 at 1:41 pm #1212075General Lighting wrote:Seems fair enough warning people, although to those who are naturally cynical it is easy to spot as a scam there are many in this country desperate for jobs and trying to keep up hope.the saddest thing is that scum doing these things are often sadly from the same working class communities as the people they are preying on… its the “thatcho inspired” ethos of greed and sleaze.

However this information is even provided in TV commercials.
All the ads promoting ambulance chasers like – injurylawyers4U etc. – clearly state that compensation is claimed from an employer, as they have Employee insurance to cover such accidents.
This is not me picking at anything – but pointing out that there is no excuse for someone not knowing simple information such as this.
And my I point out that you are the only one being personally offensive here – I haven’t been.
