That’s a mouthful of a name, I understand why he became just Socrates. Wonder what Cher’s full name is lol.
Also why on earth did I think he was a Greek philosopher? Probably shouldn’t admit that on a thread discussing intelligence but who the hell am I confusing him with, or am I simply fabricating all information I thought I knew of him, which is actually nothing besides the philosopher crap haha
April 25, 2013 at 2:08 am #1272323I’m fantastic at sport especially swimming, but i was brought up in australia so i figure thats irrelevant on my part!

I have a strong suspicion that you’re joking but just in case you’re not, Socrates was also a Greek philosopher.

April 25, 2013 at 4:02 am #1272337AnonymousThat’s what drugs tend to do, they expand you mind set. I smoked weed and for like the next week I kicked ass playing Max Payne 3 on my PS3 online but was an okay player when not high.
April 25, 2013 at 9:05 am #1272234PV users probably are more clued up than most drug users but there are equally a shit ton of idiots on the drug / party scene. Also intelligence is not everything, a lot of very intelligent people are sociopaths if not psychopaths and because they don’t immediately turn to violence they often get away with very bad shit indeed. for instance the Norway attacker originally came from the local hip hop/music scene, is supposed to have dabbled in drugs and yet turned on his own countries multicultural society.

I’ve sometimes thought that snooker players must have really mathematical minds. Maybe they wouldn’t do so well in a maths test, but think of what must go on subconsciously for them to hit one ball with exactly the right force, angle and spin to cause another ball at the other end of a fucking big table (that’s waaay bigger than the pool table down the pub) to go in a pocket and leave the first ball in a good position for the next shot.
(Unfortunately it’s all wasted on me though as I’d rather watch my toenails grow than sit in front of the TV when snooker’s on)
I seem to recall a news article about 10 years ago claiming that David Beckham was a master of physics (albeit very unwittingly), with his passing and particularly his ability with free-kicks – to be able to put that sort of bend and swerve on the ball takes some doing, and the technique Ronaldo and Bale use these days is even more bizarre, but it’s fucking effective!

He turned out for Garforth Town in the Northern league back in 2004 at the age of 50-odd, don’t think he stayed long, but that must have been great for his team-mates!

Awww Psy. That’s how you should feel! Hope everything’s okay…you can communicate with me through numbers if it makes you feel better. I won’t even mind (if it’s temporary)
Good vibes

Good Vibes indeed. If I can make through tomorrow in a good mood then that’s 3 days and I’ll be on a roll lol. Got a friend’s birthday this weekend that I don’t want to miss but I also don’t want any rugs this weekend and as p0ly would say everyone is will be doing some serious schlepping out. Gonna be tough to resist but confident I’ll manage it.

That’s great! 3 in-a-row days of complete happiness is really hard to achieve. I’m glad that you can get through it and are strong enough to pass up those kind of things. In the end though, it’s worth it to pass up something you want in the moment rather than passing up something you want in the long run
