I think its important to sort head things out myself or chat to a friend, although its better to talk to an ‘unatached’ person.
My problem is with time. There never seems to be enough to do everything in and sometimes I just say fuck it and do nothing.

lack of sleep alone will cause you paranoia – no drugs required :noway:
have you tried listening to something like relaxing music or an audio book at bedtime to distract your mind long enough to let you get to sleep? also to avoid caffeine after 4pm might help…

August 6, 2007 at 4:10 pm #1117435I’m fucking terrible with it, I can’t stay up for more than one night on the trot anymore without freaking the fuck out thinking people are out to kill me, nice eh? 12 years of taking speed every weekend and staying up for longer than needed that is.

I have had trouble with insomnia for most of my life and at times it has meant 2 hours sleep a night for weeks :hopeless:
I find listening to something as I go to sleep stops my mind chattering to itself and makes getting to sleep a lot easier…Meditation also works as does familiar chill out music….
I try to avoid caffeine after 4 pm and we eat dinner at 7pm for a 10-11.30 pm bedtime so my meal has a chance to go down before I lie down. Also I take a walk with the dog after dinner if I think I am going to have trouble sleeping.
My insomnia is compounded by being a very light sleeper so any noise wakes me pretty much. I found that taking 5 HTP [one capsule 10 minutes before bedtime] helps a lot [if you take too much it will keep you awake…] both with dropping off and staying asleep.
If you smoke cigarettes try to not do it just before trying to sleep – nicotine is a poison and its presence in your bloodstream will speed up your heart rate and make getting to sleep harder.
If none of these help enough consider seeing your GP and asking to be given a prescription for amitryptaline for a month [a fairly low dose was prescribed to me by mine for a while when I was struggling with insomnia and stress] as it will help you to get to sleep if you take it before bedtime.

August 7, 2007 at 8:42 am #1117445try taking melatonin its what your pineal gland makes to regulate your body clock. some doctors use it to regulate jet lag. Take it about an hour before bedtime, really helps and sends you off naturally, you dont feel drowsy the next day eithier.. not sleeping used to do my head in as well. Exercise always helps but not to close to bedtime…

August 7, 2007 at 4:56 pm #1117458By some people’s standards I smoke quite a lot of dope, but strangely never really seem to suffer from any paranoia.
Though I do check to see my baby son’s all right in his cot all the time. But I reckon all the constant reminders they give you about COT DEATH are enough to turn anyone paranoid about it :crazy_diz
