So today i was out in town in a very very confident mood and was approaching many strangers by myself, made a lot of friends but to the point.
I thought of Occupy and decided to ask people if they knew about it. i asked about 10 people. NONE of them had a clue what it was… MADNESS, i filled them in with as much info as i personally know.
so today the news just seems to be reporting over and over charlie bit me a video i’m sure we’ve all seen many many times… i saw one report on occupy and it was a joke which gave no good information and made out like they were supporting it by saying they had fire engines to help move tents in case of fires…..

November 28, 2011 at 10:39 am #1246744Does anyone think anything is gonna happen due to this?
November 28, 2011 at 3:23 pm #1246743depends what you mean by ‘happen’ or ‘anything’… stuff seems to be happening all over the world occupying peoples minds and sparking thoughts ideas, movements.
November 28, 2011 at 3:30 pm #1246741The occupy movement isn’t going to inspire any great change in law on it’s own but it’s useful as a consciousness-raiser – the media attention it’s gained has created a growing awareness now even amongst average ‘centre-right middle-englander types’ that people are getting pissed off with the current system. It’s a good thing IMO.
November 29, 2011 at 8:32 pm #1246737AnonymousI really really wish that I believed in the whole occupy thing, sounds like it could be well interesting and I would love to get behind a cause and give it my all. Plus it sounds quite fun and a great way to meet people and its not like I have anything to do all day.

What do you mean ‘believed in the ‘occupy thing’? How do you ‘believe’ in a protest/gathering?

What would you like to see changed? One demand should be that the manifesto of any political party trying to get elected,be legally binding, and not have them treat it like joke

that they do their best to sort out the economy and return to growth but that hardly seems something to protest about as I am sure its something they are already doing.

You have no idea whats going down if you think that. Its about a lot more than wages and pensions, they bombed and robbed libya, loaded Italy with debt that wasnt theirs, then standerd and poor say Italy might default and up the interest on said debt, so now really cant service it, Get rid of the elected government, bring in the imf and start running the country, did you see them open the volt to their gold bullion, 2500 tonnes of it stolen. Theres loads of gold under croc patrick, where that shrine to st patrick is, we’ve known about it for ages, and its alot more than what their saying it is now, thats gone, as are our forests. They have houses worth 1/2 their morgage and on top of that they got loaded with €75,000 for every man woman and child. Thats some hit for a family of four, thats been put out of work, or at least taken a pay cut. The corrib gas field is gone, no share of the profits, no tax on the profits, not even work as their going to refine it in scotland and your not going to look for oil rig workers in castlebar
December 2, 2011 at 1:58 am #1246749Look what union carbide did in india, they never payed compansation, just got took over by another company that said it’s nothing to do with us. Look what they did in the ivory coast last year, a ship carrying toxic waste, left holland and dumped it into a river that was supplying the capital city with drinking water. The gardian paper tried to report it and were blocked by the courts from doing so. Theres alot more stuff like this, they really dont care about us, and they killed the man who wrote a song to tell us that. The company that took over union carbide are sponsering the olympics whice is nice dont you think? Look closer at what their doing and you’ll see that if you care nows the time to stand up and do something. Otherwise just put a ‘c’ at the end of your username, it belongs there, he,he.
December 2, 2011 at 10:29 am #1246740Just because of the toxic waste of todays production and the danger in the way we produce it makes me demand a ‘cradle to cradle’ production system so whatever happens in the products life from during creation to its grave it still will be part of the ecosystem.
