Early news reports here that Mr. Pistorius, a gun enthusiast, had accidentally shot his girlfriend, thinking she was intruder, gave way to grim police news conferences announcing previous law enforcement complaints about domestic incidents at his home and the current charges of murder. The development stunned a nation that had elevated Mr. Pistorius to the status of a national sporting hero, an emblem of the ability to overcome acute adversity and a symbol of South Africa’s ability to project achievements onto the world stage.
Pretty grim. She was really pretty and had a big career ahead of her. I think this and events like Lance Armstrong prove how important reputation is. Neither will be remembered for their achievements, but as a murderer and a drugs cheat respectively.
February 14, 2013 at 8:21 pm #1267247Oscar Pistorius is a petulant little cunt anyway man. The cops have been called to his house several times before for him beating his girlfriend, so it comes as no surprise that he’s eventually gone too far. Fuck him, hope he rots in prison!

I used to read Cycling Weekly and was curious about racing – but realised that dressing indecently in lycra and having to wax my legs did not appeal to me one bit and many of the pro-cyclists were scum anyway – I’d regularly read about stuff like fights on the track and people deliberately trying to provoke crashes at high speed and calling it “tactics”. if you behaved like that on the road in any vehicle or even on foot (like running through the street and barging people out the way) you’d be arrested, not given a fucking medal!
