A friend has been working for some months on making a few tunes and has been saving up to get them pressed but he’s not sure if they are good enough and would like some feed back and opinions please.
It’s the four tunes on this link: http://www.myspace.com/djburrleive
I thought the first one “Smile it’s not that hard” is good but he needed to sort the end out and i thought it would be good to add the vocals “smile it’s not that hard” in somewhere.
Thanks people i am sure he will appreciate your comments.
Hug from me. Shine on talented ones :weee:

September 18, 2006 at 12:37 pm #1090031He says he has another copy with a bit rate of over 1000 at home, if you would like a copy or are interested PM me and i’ll give you his email addy. Thank you for your comments, it’s appreciated.
September 18, 2006 at 6:22 pm #1090030They are all pretty good. You can tell he’s new to producing but it speaks volumes that he has come up with such good stuff after 6 months.
If he sticks with it and keeps on learning he’ll come up with some wicked stuff no doubt.

September 19, 2006 at 9:30 am #1090036if this is the first time he has posted tunes – way to go 😉 well done
smile its not that hard – sounds a little distorted [not sure if this was intentional] but it has muddied the sound a bit and the rest of the tune has suffered as a result.
Overall i like it :weee: at the moment it a bit raw [he could try adding some rim shots to the percussion throughout and giving the melody a slight boost on the mixer to bring it out from behind the bassline {dropping the bassline is another way of doing it} i like the voice samples but they sound a bit muddy too]woogoo – this one has very fluffy bass [could be intentional ] and IMO lacks a high pitched noise [percussion/melody] to give it a bit more focus.
the track is slightly muddy again [maybe how it was recorded?] love the stretching melody raaaraaajagga beats – i like this one lots [very promising :bounce_fl:bounce_fl] do more work on this one :bounce_fl:bounce_fl
resist the bad – started out really well and got lost in noise halfway through [drums are very fluffy again and interfering with hearing the rest of the tune] but the melody lines are very interesting
not sure why they are but they all sound distorted to me – i can also hear digital distortion in some of the tracks – maybe the recording level was too high? it detracts from what are tracks with a lot of promise.
the basslines suffer as a result of the distortion and have a tendency to overwhelm the rest of the tracki am very impressed for a newcomer and think he should stick at it 😉
you will have to convey my comments to him irie as i dont do myspaz :groucho:
