Even with the theory of the above, Its always been touchy anyway, and there’s loads of contradiction within the world when it comes to sterotypes, and whats alowed as a joke, and what isn’t. I tell you what, the whole thing itself is a fucking joke.

I luagh at fat jokes, but I have nothing against fat people. I have laughed at seemingly racist jokes, but I am definitely NOT racist. Infact, I got told alot og jokes that wwould be seen as controversial, buy a a devoted catholic, who ran his own church thing. He always told me they were just jokes, as they should be.

I think a joke is a joke as long as its not intended to insult anyone, because then its an insult of course. That is where the line should be drawn.

I also hope no one gets the wrong Idea about me from this post. Im just being honest enough for people to see how It really is.

Yeah hadn’t thought about it like that. I mean I saw a Family Guy episode where the took the piss out of the brits and the brits in the pubs. But they portrayed us so differently it was funny, but not insulting. Although it does make me wonder if americans think we really are like that. Basically the Brits were wearing suit/wasit coat type clothes and eye glasses drinking bitter while playing darts and watching cricket lol. We also had huge noses and big front teeth.

Anyway, South Park gets away with allsorts. Its one rule for one thing, and one for another.

However, like I said, it was a bit heavy for a kids program. Maybe the difference with adult jokes, we know more about what were laughing about, and how ridiculous it is, and maybe we are laughing for a different reason. Kids may be laughing at actually taking note, and maybe being fooled into thinking these stereotypes are true. Or maybe they are getting the exact opposite message, and its better for them to learn at an early age. Very hard to predict. I think the first is more likley though… So keep it on adult shows.
