I use the term ‘pikey’ myself same as a black or asian person uses the negative steriotype about themselves. As GL said between friends.

we’re all quick to point the finger of blame at any ethnic group who doesnt fit in to our way of living. I doubt the percentage of criminal minded gypsies is any higher than that of the criminally intent in any society.

I think what Mr AHC is extremelly pissed off about is that the word Pikey is used all too often and does seem to refer (according to the middle classes) to travellers in general. However, MrAHC is not of this image and so different, however people still refer to him as a “Pikey” when the defination doesn’t fit

I can say the same about gays really – people use the word “gay” too much nowadays. I mean, everything is “totally gay” this and “thats gay” that – But I don’t get offended.

I mean, when someone tells you someone is gay there is an image that crosses most peoples minds and they think, camp, effeminate, probebly wears makeup and is a sexual deviant – Well I aint… and the definiton or stereotype just does not fit – just like MrAHC
