SF and fatmoon forums are alright but they were limited to there own rigs nta was good cause it was for all rigs up north. there is talk of setting up another site for northern ravers. it is just talk at the mo tho. hope someone does something has i have absolutely no technical exerience.

pity about nta board going, there had been some lively discussion going on, and a guy posted a private message he’d received from one of the moderators threatening violence……. i think thats why it was closed, because they had recently given the board an overhaul, and had collected donations from folk using the site to keep it going, so dont think they had planned to close it.

as i understand it the nta are no more, they certainly haven’t done any free parties for a couple of years at
least. they reinvented themselves as “i cant believe its not the nta” promising parties, but it never happened.

it was a good board, with a vetting process to gain access to free party info, but there’s plenty of other ways to spread the word………

i asked about this on another forum as people were bitching and to be fair this is the reasanoble response i got (not from anyone asossiated with NTA btw).

“I’d forgotten that some people donated cash to keep the hosting going. I don’t think that comes with a guarantee of any future service tho tbh. Gordie sorted out new hosting and transferred everything onto a new board. My (very reasonable) professional rates are £30/hr and I reckon he must have spent at least 3 or 4 hours sorting that all out. Unless they contributed more than £60 each I don’t think they’ve got any moral recourse”.
There is also the fact that he never asked for a penny for the first however many years the website was up and running.

Just like to add my 2peneth as the admin of the NTA and the guy that lost the most money.

Some people did donate cash to keep the NTA website up but this was a few years ago and it didn’t cover it all,think we got a total of about £30 the rest was paid for by me, as anybody running a site will tell you it costs money to register the site and host it not just once but yearly.

I decided to let the lease run out on the NTA as I did not have the time,cash or energy to carry it on.

The “dispute” which should have been personal was made public by Dan, the same Dan that did a runner from Sheffield after robbing his best friends house and posting some very nasty comments about his ex on squat juice, the “dispute” was about a night I run and how he thought I was a capitalist money grabber for charging people, aside from the fact that this is how I make my living we have DJs to pay, music to buy, equipment to maintain, flyers to print etc.

He also wrongly accused us of ripping people off at club Shhh on NYE a couple of years ago mistaking dil and myself for another promoter (we did our party at the Cactus Club and only charged a fiver just to cover costs of venue and bouncers)

There was never any issue with freedom of speech, but slagging me off and trying to blacken my name on a forum that I run warrants a reaction and the reaction was to ban those people .

Anyway we had some bloody good parties and we had a bloody good laugh doing them and we still have the scars and photos to remind us, who knows we may go outside again if we find a nice place to party.

well worth a look, especially for free party stuff yorkshire/derbyshire areas, however to get access to the free party info you’ll need to know, or get to know one of the board admin crew, or someone doin parties in that area…..
