Marcus mates dj-ing, and all the usual going, so will be nice as know lots there. they all that way and been our there a few times but his old stomping ground.

I lost my passport, so my NYE plans of being at Moondance are screwed :'(

Now I’ve just got to find a free party to go to, I wish I knew where to start looking…

Anyways, I hope everyone elses NYE will be better than mine, I’ll probably end up at a shite house party or something now.

think i will just chill at home this year i kinda over blew my budjet over xmas and had a party boxing day too

Not too sure yet, was thinking maybe not a free party but probably will end up doing that! Think I’ll avoid the hard trance one though as it’s bait, maybe Bristol, k32 private or London multi or psy one got friends going to all of em shame everyone’s not getting together in the same place really

Booked my tickets down to london for nye now. Going too see whats about got afew numbers and things i might go to ill have to see what i feel like on the night.

if I were younger I’d probably go to London but can’t be arsed with the costs and the sketchy transport arrangements.

The worst bit is the journey back invariably being put off the train in the wastelands of essex due to engineering work and/or the electric on the wires being turned off -and having to transfer to a variety of ropey old service buses and low end coaches travelling back at 40mph on the A12/A14 in filthy grey weather. even if you made the journey by car you’d still end up in the same traffic jam behind the coaches.

Always found NYE to be overrated for raves anyway. It was a sketchy NYE party back in SE England where two good friends of mine nearly came to blows over old grudges which made me quit doing illegal raves anyway.

I got a radio scanner recently (my rather battled scarred old one had finally given up the ghost) to listen to some marine VHF (was impressed to pick up a yacht calling Orwell operations from my bedroom, given that between the radio and the Orwell is a network router and switch what creates interference) but might just tune it to the pubwatch or similar rentaguards frequencies (these are still analogue) and have a good laugh at the muppets being hauled up for being idiots. Its a pity feds are on airwave as traditionally the head control room op always wished happy Christmas and New year not just to the cops and support staff but all the scanner listeners 😉

if the weather isn’t filthy I mght even just cycle around Shotley/Woolverstone area and see what signals I can pick up.

There is one advantage of Airwave – Ofcom and other feds are no longer paranoid about people having scanners and folk on boats don’t mind as the Coastguard is being downsized and all the comms shifted to SE England (a lot can go pear shaped along 200 miles of copper and fibre) – plus there is too much reliance on satnavs and GDMSS (not much good if the vessel is pooped and the radio room half drowned and shorted out, putting the skipper on the deck with a 1980s era handheld).

So every extra pair of ears on VHF can help if things go tits up – means I can make good use of that map on my wall, as the land bit is now obsolete (numerous housing estates built since it was printed) but the North Sea has stayed put…
