I’ve been working on a couple of tracks that dont fit my usual style, kinda upbeat psybreaks / nu skool breaks. I’m not sure:
1) if it’s worth pursuing this style
2) if I should release them as Iacchus tracks or create a new persona for this styleits unlikely you care, but if you do, your opinion would be appreciated. You can listen to them here:
February 9, 2010 at 12:30 pm #1222870its always good to pursue something new, its good to be creative.
February 9, 2010 at 12:37 pm #1222862i’ll have a listen when i get home tonight (are they still 8 bit style?)
February 9, 2010 at 1:21 pm #1222866true its good to be creative, especially in a new area, i meant more im not sure if there is a market at all for this sort of thing.
no they’re not 8bit influenced, think more a cross between psytrance and plump djs
February 9, 2010 at 1:32 pm #1222871its not always about whether theres a “market” for it though. who says you cant create tracks just for personal enjoyment?
if you like what your doing, then go with it, and if other people like them too then thats also good.
February 9, 2010 at 2:26 pm #1222867i do create things for personal enjoyment.. and have made very obscure music for many a year, nowadays that’s not enough tho i want more gigs
February 9, 2010 at 3:16 pm #1222861loving it mate, really cool tracks. Have you heard of far too loud? really good psy breaks duo.

both quality dude, loving the samples on both of the tracks! definatly make more tracks like this! prob best to use a different name i reckon to stop people getting confused about what music your gonna play if they book you or d/l your tunes
good stuff tho raaa
February 9, 2010 at 4:38 pm #1222868cheers peeps
yeah i know far too loud.. cant get hold of much of their stuff but what i have is quality
hmm yeah i was thinking different name myself.. the missus thinks otherwise tho
February 9, 2010 at 5:32 pm #1222863heard the frog delusion b4 .. really like that when it gets going … otehr one is good to … should keep it up imo … who sais u can’t make psy breaks and 8-bit stuff as well? .. doesn’t have to be all or nothing
February 10, 2010 at 8:41 pm #1222865Listening to ‘The Frog Delusion’. Fucking hell, man, this is brilliant! I absolutely love the combo, and I’d definitely agree that it wasn’t strictly psybreaks, though that’s definitely one of the main parts of it. Love the mix of psy and breaks kicks, nice one, and the melodies are brilliant. Excellent mix too. What DAW and plug-ins do you use?
Good job, dude!
February 12, 2010 at 3:40 pm #1222864it’s decent iaachus, think i prefer it to the 8-bit.
February 16, 2010 at 1:14 pm #1222869ill probably continue to make breakcore and 8bit and stuff.. just wasnt sure about creating a new persona for this sort of thing
I use ableton live as my sequencer and a Virus TI as my synth.. apart from that use kontakt as a sampler and a few random effects plugins like the ohm force plugins
anyway cheers guys general consensus seems to be to make more of this shit, and its fun to do so i probably will.. and think i wont put it on my next iacchus album ill do it as a seperate release.
