February 19, 2013 at 9:17 pm #1267589Only thing I will say is make the background transluscent so it will blend in with the background gradient.

February 19, 2013 at 9:24 pm #1267584I like it, looks very clean. I agree with making the background blend more though.

I think its better than the old ones – trends in website design change as tech changes too. displays shifted from CRT to LCD and so the preferred colour schemes of sites changed, and for those lucky enough to afford a big 1080p monitor (or multiple displays) or even get one at work, you are expected to use them for multitasking and often in a open plan office where you did not want to draw attention to yourself from bosses etc.
so the old background picture of a outdoor rave got downsized over the years as it was taking up too much room on the screen. Then in recent times everyone has started using laptops, netbooks, tablets and mobile phones to access the site and folk using such devices won’t be able to see a big busy title picture anyway.
Plus the world has changed a lot, even in liberal Europe. when half the continents eating horse whether or not they want to, they are going to judge folk who are eating pills in large noisy gatherings on someone elses property, whereas listenign to the radio or broadcasting on it is seen as a positive friendly multicultural thing to do and low cost/low impact and thus encouraged. 😉
