April 4, 2004 at 1:59 pm #1061697Its worth putting these logs into perspective to avoid undue paranoia..
You will see a fair number .mil users on this board. These are more likely to be unfortunate chaps and ladies who have been conscripted into “doing their duty for Uncle Sam” and are logging on from their bases in the R&R periods rather than the dark forces of the Pentagon trying to close us down!
More worrying would be individual government departments/agencies looking here – (like USDOJ) but another thing worth noting is that in the United Kingdom the govt agencies employ a large number of junior clerks and other staff who are often young and enjoy raves as much as anyone else! Although some UK government depts block out all message boards apart from “work-related” ones (usually IT/techie boards are allowed) others are less strict.
However we do get a few hits from UK police forces on their Cable and Wireless corporate circuits (AFAIK C&W don’t do home net ccts any more so any C&W incoming traffic should be viewed with suspicion) – I have also seen British Government officers looking in very late on a Friday night – at the “drugs info” pages! Even so I think whoever it is is probably only a “talk to frank” researcher looking for more material – perhaps this is a compliment 😉
it is also the start of the British outdoor party season. as these parties take place on open land where there is often more conflict between landowners wishes and those of the crews, it is understandable that the Police in the UK will be looking for any potential intelligence material.
The main thing though it to be vigilant but not too paranoid. Before posting consider this – if you said this in a pub [bar] where you new there were detectives about; would the material incriminate anybody or any crew? if this is not the case then post it.
