November 12, 2006 at 2:52 pm #1094077As far as i know you will need some sort of software to do this, not sure if there are any freebies about but there is a demo here http://smartdvdcreator.com/?id=sdvdcgg
If you google about Im fairly sure you will find a shareware prog that does the same thing for no expenditure.Hope this helps:wink:

November 12, 2006 at 5:35 pm #1094069I often get out of sync audio when I burn an AVI using Nero. It’s usually ok for the first 15 mins of a file and then gets progressively worse. Anyone know if there is a way to prevent this?
November 12, 2006 at 7:13 pm #1094070I use Nero 7 to so this (the nero vision module) and have no problems with it.
Used to use TMPGE and visual dub, it would take me 2 days to make aDVD that way !, takes less than 2 hours now…thats progress:wink:November 13, 2006 at 10:21 am #1094072You need to convert avi to mpeg2 video stream, with either an ac3, or mp3 audio stream. Avi can come as various different formats, from standard win encoded uncompressed avi, all the way to divx/xvid, which is highly compressed…
Usually requires demuxing the two (TMPEG and virtual dub are good for this, but take a bit of learning to use properly)
Easiest way would be to use Avi2DVD which you can get here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/avi2dvd.cfm
It’s basically a gui for command line encoders, and comes with 4 open source encoders, which balance different variations of speed/quality. There is a forum for how to’s etc, so you have some idea of which options to use…
If you want more info, 2 good places to find it are:
http://www.videohelp.com which has lots of good articles/how to’s, and
http://www.doom9.org/ which hasn’t been updated for a fairly long time now, but is still an excellent resource for video stuff…
