pyeah i think it is. even though it’s owned by farmers i think walkers have “right of passage” or somethin, afaik it’s all legal (apart from the mushroom part!)

September 19, 2007 at 7:14 pm #1120283i think ramblers rights dont mean u can go “anywhere” ill just check on the IE……………………………………………………………………………………………………….
In England such access applies to certain categories of mainly uncultivated land— – specifically “mountain, moor, heath, down and registered common land.” Developed land, gardens and certain other areas are specifically excluded from the right of access. Agricultural land is accessible if it falls within one of the categories described above. Most publicly owned forests have a similar right of access by virtue of a voluntary dedication made by the Forestry Commission. People exercising the right of access have certain duties to respect other people’s rights to manage the land, and to protect nature.
just found that on old wiki, yeah so walking thru fields would be agriculteral, but to be honest the farmer wont care, as long as u shut gates, dont let ur dog chase sheep or cattle(as stress lowers there milk load) and just be respectful to the surrounding countryside, (better to leave ur dog outta the equation) basically they dont want no fool ruining the countryside and there fields( not saying that ur a fool:wink: ), and remember dont step on crops, woodlands a different matter, you can go anywhere, but watch out for active tree felling routes
happy shrooming

September 20, 2007 at 8:39 am #1120274For the past 3 and a half weeks I’ve been parked up in what ought to be a perfect place for ’em – Welsh mountain moors, grazed by sheep and ponies – middle of nowhere. But sadly not a shroom in sight so far. Still, had plenty of rain yesterday and today so I’m hoping that might encourage ’em to start popping up 😉
I’ve never made tea with ’em or ought like that – just pick ’em and eat ’em fresh as possible – when you mess around with ’em you lose a lot of the potency.
