im going, when it actually starts to rain!!!!!, ive got my book with the edible ones in, and it should be good fun, always nice to get out to the woods next to me:), anyway there are only 10-20 different poisonous ones and most just give u a realy bad stomach ache, i wouldnt worry to much:weee:

go to the library and get a proper mushroom identification book

I have allways said mushrooms are gods gift to mankind,some years my paddocks are carpeted and other times i have to go off searching.They say you should eat the first one you find and the rest will find you!!!

Tink im goona have to go this year and giggle throughout the day after!

Also PP i heard that you wont find many of the magic mushrooms in forests (unless in the clearings). Aparentely feilds with cattle/sheep in clear open spaces especially on a hill facing South/East/west/north whichever way the sun rises lol!

Ive never seen magics in the woods but im not really looking for them,short well grazed land has proved plentyfull to me in the past and it makes them a bit easier to spot em too.

I went out a week or so ago and got about 10 i’d never take em again but it was a nice walk. Found a lovely old abandond barn as well that would be great for a party.

ive allways let it all brew in a pot for a while and then poured it and downed the whole cupfull shrooms an all ,but i know people who remove them cos they are not keen swallowing em its up to you,i think its in for a penny in for a pound the more inside you the more wasted you get.

The way i brew em is to put them in a pan (about 30 to 50 per person) add a cup full of water for every person then half a cup for steam, boil the hell out of them for about 5 minuits then let them simmer with the lid on for 10 to 15 more. then pour through a siv into the cups. works a treat.

As for finding them land that hasn’t been cultivated for a long time prefrebly(sp?) with cows on seems to be best.

Definatly get a good book or someone who knows what there picking though!
