as I was riding to work today I noticed they were setting up a VOSA checkpoint in the village where I work (the inspector was actually a fit young lady, not sure if this is some sort of psychological/distraction tactic :laugh_at:)
June 5, 2009 at 11:34 am #1200945I haven’t for about 7 months and haven’t had any letters. Been to london and what not loads in this time and no problems. Although haven’t been driving last 2 months.
Only time you have to worry is maybe traffic coppers with estates. I think they automatically check tax, however Im not sure about MOT. All I know is there is no automatic system like with your tax from the DVLA or whoever might handle it.
June 9, 2009 at 10:48 am #1200946they can tell if you have no tax, insurance and mot before they speak to you, seen it on intceptors…. there computer says yabba dabba dooo when someone drives past without one of the three
June 9, 2009 at 11:04 am #1200942spoke to a mate who’s a mechanic, says a car with no MOT would show up on the ANPR, but only after a month as it takes a while for it to get on the system…
June 9, 2009 at 12:45 pm #1200944i’m sure they can, but they must be lazy about it as i was driving round for about 4 months without one and had many police encounters where it wasn’t mentioned!
