The NHS are well aware of mephedrone and its risks and Josh is not the first person to end up in the wagon because of it, although its effects are often confused with that of dexamfetamine.
if its “negative” its the politicians who are to blame, not the NHS. all they are doing is collecting data and assessing the harm and costs of these incidents.
I’m of course glad Josh is OK, but that Ambulance cost about £150 to call out and the paramedics and equipment etc has to be paid for. As he is in full time employment, at least the cost is probably covered in a couple of months of his NI contributions but its still one unit called out to a healthy young person with a self-inflicted condition what could be needed for something like treating a RTC victim or an elderly person suffering a stroke.
we often don’t think about it because this isn’t spelled out to us on paper (unlike the yank what shot himself in the foot and had to pay for his treatment!)
if this is caused by a recreational substance wider society has every right to state the opinion that use of this substance should be controlled.
TBH I expect it will go class B by mid 2010 especially when the Tories get back in (as it will probably coincide with the stuff being mainstream and even a short resurgence in legal rave events frequented by my age group…)
yeah i wasn’t blaming anyone really .. just saing that info would legaly have to be put into a report of what happened … and from there go down what ever chain that it is suposed to … and alot of drugs get banned because people die/have serious problems with them .. so this info must pass onto someone with power to put in motion a ban on any so far legal substance if there are signs of abuse
September 4, 2009 at 5:21 pm #1182178i’m glad your ok man
but be careful. im not being self-righteous, we’ve all had binges i’m sure… but aspirin is still a drug and therefore its mixing drugs, and therein lies a big danger.
GL is right it is NHS resources but i know many who have had to be rushed off due to their own fault, better safe than sorry just important to learn and not do it again.
September 4, 2009 at 5:25 pm #1182669I do that alot … i allso growl at anoying dogs .. useually shuts them up as well :laugh_at:alltho i would only sugest this with dogs that’s bark is worce than there bite .. like them little fluffy ones that never shut up yapping
September 4, 2009 at 5:27 pm #1181815People have actually done themselves a lot of damage taking aspirin and other “safe” substances after binges, putting extra strain on an already stressed body. These days I’m a bit wary of OTC medications as it is around the age I am now that my Dad was starting to suffer health problems from his overuse of benzodiazepines and OTC medications, which he never thought of as “drugs” because they weren’t illegal!
We are really lucky to have the NHS to treat people in a non judgemental manner, even if the stuff does become classified (which hasn’t exactly stopped people doing other drugs) at least these lessons learned from these incidents mean that Paramedics will be able to deal with the symptoms and that knowledge could be the difference between the next casualty recoverinng in hospital or dying..
September 4, 2009 at 5:36 pm #1184834I wasnt actually after buying them over here, and if someone wanted to pm me a site is that also against your rules?

September 4, 2009 at 7:21 pm #1182316Ducking hell man, That sounds like a proper nasty experience. Imo drone should be treated with a bit more respect.
Yeah it’s pretty good and gives you a decent buzz but the long term effects of it aren’t that well known. Also from what i gather from numerous reports online it can be quite damaging.
Even though i had some last weekend and enjoyed it, i ain’t gonna touch it again for quite some time.
I’d say stay off the drone for a while fella, even though it’s a good buzz no drug is worth damaging your health.
😉
September 4, 2009 at 8:24 pm #1183256josh don’t do any mephedrone for awhile mate!! it’s not worth it.
i’d highly recommend no drugs and healthy diet + alot of exercise. i know this kind of experience would = a big health binge in me

Yep thats exactly what fucks people over much more, the fact mephedrone is a newish substance is actually secondary. Similar incidents were happening in 1990-1992 when our generation first discovered the joys of stimulants.
Quite often the Paramedics and other Emergency Department personnel treat a mephedrone OD as if it were one of dexamfetamine or methamfetamine as the symptoms are virtually identical due to the stress the substance can put on the cardiovascular system (your heart and blood circulation).
it is also easy when you are a young man of 18-25 to think your body is indestructible in the short term, and to neglect stuff like eating well during the week, taking an amount of good physical exercise rather than watching telly or sitting in front of the computer.
We all go through stages like this, I was not always the chap who can go on a 50 mile bike ride at the weekend and still party with my friends (it was only recently I started cycling!)
I was told in 1992 by my GP at the time I would not see my thirties if I carried on with the lifestyle I was leading…
September 5, 2009 at 11:06 am #1182031i’ve tried lone and drone and thought it was like a 5 hour speed hit with a sicky feeling in my stomach
September 5, 2009 at 11:53 am #1184763The thing is remember its pure not street drugs well my shit is anyway altho from the feedback ive got nearly every one of the other vendors must be diluting there shit since everyone seems to prefer it. also amphetamines is a very potent vascoconstriculator one of the most potent vasco constriculators (mephedrone is an amphetamine analogue) there is out of all stimulants. And ephedrine is known to cause tachycardia irregular heartbeat and due to the stimulation of the heart and vasco constriculation it can cause blood vessel spasms aswell which can be why ur chest feels weird/uncumfortable it can be like having a stitch mephedrone is made by changing the ephedrine molecule primarily.

I was told in 1992 by my GP at the time I would not see my thirties if I carried on with the lifestyle I was leading…Funny that mine told me about the same as I kept thinking I was dying due to being so para from 3 days of raving like you say 18 and thinking I was Rambo. End up on antidepressant because I started thinking of killing myself is sounds so weird now but the it was all really and very pain full for all my loved ones for about a year and ended up back home but my good wife got me back and now I just do it now and again. I must admit I’m had 3 go’s at meph what has been fun but I’m now going to have a brake for 3 months…..
September 5, 2009 at 12:12 pm #1184764yes jeff sounds like it might be a good idea when i first found it in april I was doing 10g a week every 2nd week for about 2 months believe it or not i went from a very fit athlete type to unfit and I was about 9 stone at one point its very very moreish and easy to lose track of what your doing because when ur on the mephedrone happy train it can be almost impossible to get off it

bear in mind I meow at cats when sober and have been doing so since 2002 – started off with my own pets, and then at random ones, many of which respond positively (I’ve befriended three this way!) This is the sort of concept my sane mind comes up with, so consider what effect drugs must have on it…
hahahah classic
on a more on topic note.. has anyone found some dodgy side effects yet, for example, i did a gram last night (/yesterday) and my lungs and back of my throat feel like theyve been chemical burnt, like its quite hard and a bit sore to breath deeply…
was off my rocker from 1 in the afternoon though…ill just have a line to try my ass :laugh_at:
