That vinylgroover tape has some greta mixing on it, like he is really trying hard on that set. Mind you he was young then, he admits that he was playing in clubs before he was 16 so go figure LOL
I’m still pissed at vinylgroover for reinventing himself as scott atrill. His new NEW style is ok but meh, kinda m a mix of electro house and hardstyle. Although these days he is into the commercial underground scene.
Weak dude, shame he’s done so, but if that’s how he wants to go these days, then that’s his choice I guess. Pity though.

When I just watched this on Youtube it began with a Sainsbury’s advert. So many levels of wrong.

November 14, 2012 at 10:49 pm #1261946This one holds a good memory. Bit of a crazy one. It’s quite calm to start with and then after the breakdown it goes mental. I was standing on the stage and have never seen 1500 people go so absolutely apeshit when it drops.

I posted this in another thread the other day, but it blatantly belongs in here though:
Bwhahaaaa, There is a time and a place for hixxy and sharkey, but I spoze they belong here if anywhere. I used too love this tune though. Hated the “return to toytown” remx they did though with the vocal. First slammin vinyl I went on a NYE to I was lucky enough to here an old school tangent by hixxy and he was playing this and steamtrain etc

November 14, 2012 at 10:57 pm #1261949I’ve posted this elsewhere on PV but this is the above tune being played in 2004 in Spain about 11 years after it was made. Shows that old school vibe we used to have spread to other countries and they did it proper. Love this clip…

yeah but essential platinum had already realised the £££ margin in dance music sucked so remixes were comman then when the time came allong the started to re hash all the old stuff into “happy” hardcore and made MORE cash and now it’s hit he NU skool the have remixed them AGAIN. Poor hardcore, it’s been raped twice 🙁

What makes it worse is the fact it’s been raped by the very people who made it so great in the first place man, all for the sake of a few extra quid.
November 15, 2012 at 11:53 am #1261924ah, that explains why I somehow thought toytown was way newer than before 1995. FFS I can’t understand the atttitudes on the UK dance music scene. They have this spurious attitude of wanting to stay “underground” yet wanting mainstream fame yet too stubborn to behave proper which gets folk on the scenes judged and balkanised (and that applies to every dance genre from urban to hard dance).
November 15, 2012 at 3:50 pm #1262090Man, I can’t believe we’ve got this far in without this stone cold classic being mentioned:
November 15, 2012 at 3:53 pm #1262091And this is a classic too:
November 16, 2012 at 2:38 pm #1262092And another one:
November 16, 2012 at 7:50 pm #1261993I know this isn’t proper old skool but we talking nostalgia here so this was a goodun from my past.
Can I get a CHEESE “E”
Why the guy who uploaded it had to +4 the pitch when recording it I do not know, all the other youtube versions of it are from mixes so meh
