Unless its hip-hop, which I love. I have a mate who I occassionally let MC over my jungle sets, but thats because he knows when to shut up!

(its also quite funny as he hates MCs, even though he is one!!)

I met a guy at Dragon who I was chatting to about Music, as soon as he found out I was a dj he- started- talking – like- an- MC- which really fucked me off, so I told him what I thought about them!

Funny one for me. Being asking meself this a few times. Im not sure whether I like them or not.

I think it depends on what they’re MCin over. Nearly all the UK Hardcore events have MCs, but even though some MCs suit the style, they just seem like they cant get enough of their own voice…

I think aslong as they pick the words well, and dont MC LOUDLY overpowering the music, then its not so bad. But some dont stop at all. Ive got loads of CDs from raves that have some great DJs and some wicked sets, but I dont listen to them alot anymore because the MCin is just too much.

A prime example of a bad MC is MC Motivator. Not sure how many people have heard him, but he’s quite known up north I think. Anyway, he’s inside now thank fucking god. He thinks well too much of himself and just gives everyone abuse and that while he’s MCing, making people shout his name and that. Not in the good way, but like “Who am I then?!?! Cmon, who the fuck am I you cunts!?” Ect…

got some old old stuff (I think it’s still classed as) ‘jungle’ 😉 that I’ve had for years and thats ok but not my fav style

mc storm i could kill he just loves the sound of his own voice “we love all that dont we ravers” actually storm no we dont, oddesey on the other hand i love wicked lyrics and the guy knows when to shut up and give the dj the light.

Have heard some spectacular MCs but most of them should be lined up against the wall and shot immediately :annoyed:

It’s an art that very many people try but only 1% are actually any good. A bit like doing a proper mastering jobby on a track.

yeah there are a few that are really good ..but most are wannabe’s … and i only like mcing to hardcore and d+b doesn’t realy go with any otehr types of music imo

The last (and only, thank god) time that I saw an MC at a party he was ‘spitting’ over breaks and D&B and wasn’t too annoying- not that great but he knew how to shut up occassionally so it’s all good :weee::laugh_at:

I dislike about 99% of them with a passion. Egotistical wankers who spoil the music and are only concerened that their voice is louder than the music.

1% have nailed it and are true artists who compliment the music and the atmosphere. Conrad being one of them.
