Do you find calling weed ‘pot’ a really lame word? I don’t know why but when I wanna take the piss i’ll say ‘pot’ normally in an American accent to take the piss.
It’s proper lame, I can just imagine some half wit clichè stoner (most likely from the US) goin on about how much he/she looves ‘pot’ and how they’re gonna change the world by making it legal and free…..blah blah.
Point is, ‘pot’ is a fuckin lame word, and if you call ganja/green/bud the aforementioned word….then your lame.
My dad calls it dope, which I suppose is a generational thing but still makes me cringe because it reminds me of someone from Road Wars confiscating a bag of oregano. Pot is definitely a terrible word for it. And what the fuck is with people calling it gear? Whenever I hear that it makes me think they’re talking about smack.
My younger brother always uses the adjective to smoking weed as ‘doing weed’. And in past tense ‘done weed’.
So he’ll say ‘i done weed the other day’ or ‘me and my mates are doing weed tonight’.
He also says ‘hench’ meaning good and ‘hemp’ meaning bad.
I usually call it grass, but I grew up smoking with some old-timers, and yes I’m stateside. Never really liked “pot” but I’m not against it. Marijuana’s a worse word, a propaganda word to make “upstanding, patriotic Americans” think weed is some threat from down south, lumped in as a cartel drug, a foreign enemy. Never do I call it marijuana.
