hi there! the london party scene has taken a bit of a battering (literally?) due to violence but there are still some good parties that happen now and then….. (albeit now with security on the doors!)
look for tribe of munt and headfuk for a start
and remember trains etc go both ways so there’s stuff outside london
do you or friends have access to a car?
July 20, 2005 at 11:36 am #1066492AnonymousA car? Why where do you want to go?? Only kidding. I checked out the munt website and it’s my weekend off. I gather from my ex boss that how this works is that I’m told to drive somewhere, usually down a dark country lane to where I’ll find a phonebox. Like a scene out of a horror, the phone rings when I approach it. From there I’m told where yo go. Or is that really dated, my ex boss is fourtysomething.

We have mobile phones now!most of the organisers (if not all the ravers) actually had them “back in the day” as well, often “borrowed” from the workplace (such as mobiles issued to IT support staff) – but the real reason the telephone box was sometimes used is because it was more secure.
in those days mobiles were analogue….
nosey bastards with scanners (usually the angry old men who sit in their suburban houses and whinge about everything) would listen in and grass the location up to the old bill!
July 21, 2005 at 1:02 pm #1066493AnonymousIt’s ok now though cos most of those angry old men have been captured and put into homes. Bless ’em. If I check out the munt site on Saturday 23rd will it give me a location to its next party?

at least mobile phones are digital now so a scanner for them costs quite a few grand – only the security services and tabloid newspapers have them.

move your mouse to the hands of the “munt god” on the right hand side of the page. A “contacts” link will appear. click on this and the partyline numbers appear. When you ring those on Saturday they will have directions, its then a matter of getting there before the “tribe of Met…“
