happy new year gang!
what a festive period this was!
party on boxing day was wicked loads of safe ravers, -8 & loads of snow with a “shelterd venue!” but after a few cans and a bit of a wobble you didnt feel it! proppa safe atmosphere, free booze, free jacket potatoes loads of techno! more of that methinks!
nye- wicked wicked party, once again loads of techno! alot warmer as proppa indoor! 1000+ people music up & running by 11pm safe safe safe! couldnt ask for more! wicked venue, mega atmosphere great tunes, loads of old faces etc
however now back to loverly ol work! doh! however it was nice having lots of recovery time! it did fall perfectly this year, and only 2 days of work in between! roll on 2011 were gonna have a ball!
feel sorry for all the NYE Fails, have heard there were a few, hope your all safe and sound!
what did you all get up too? heard & seen pictures of about 500 people in asda car park on NYE, anyone here rave it up in Asda’s? 😥
January 4, 2011 at 9:56 am #1233535…same to you…I was on tour with football fans to st.pauli/reberbahn in hamburg….it was just like being sent into a time capsule back to late -80s early -90s. It never close….and no bullshit smoking rules

ahhh a time when a man could smoke in piece! i love germany, it never sleeps, and the techno just keeps on banging! i need to live there!
January 4, 2011 at 10:46 am #1233530I went to a couple of solstice parties linked to an environmental group I am part of but only drank booze.
The drugs/party scene in my area has developed a rather nasty self-destructive aspect to it and I have distanced myself from it in recent times – its simply just not fun any more. There are good reasons why parties are increasingly going titsup and being locked off and people ending up “raving” in a Asda car park!
Stayed in on NYE as I want to keep healthy and energetic to do some more positive things both career with and within my local community, and these do not fit in as well with recovering from the effects of substances!

did you go to the winter solstace gathering at stonehenge? allways wantedto do the winter one but allways far too busy! heard there were a fair few heads up there this year,
indeed they do not! tbh im quite happy going partying these days with just a couple of litres of cider, what ruins me is the amount of dancing i do, the next day my whole body aches, its like a proppa work out! dont get me wrong though i do get quite messy on occasions! infact if i didnt have work i think i would be a total mess!!
yeah ive heard some areas/crews are experiancing difficulties on many levels, had numerous facefkc msgs stating that someones had there entire rig nicked out of a lockup! dark times!however its not all doom and gloom, and there are a great many posistives coming out of the scene at the moment
mind you theres also alot of smoke and mirrors aswell! heard on boxing day that 3 people had gone missing in some caves – total rubbish
read on the bbc website that s/w nye party was orginised on facebook – utter utter rubbish! if your out of the loop slightly it can be difficult to pick apart the shite from the fact but i spose thats the nature of the beast,January 4, 2011 at 11:13 am #1233545:love:welcome back to earth
January 4, 2011 at 11:15 am #1233536…as I was driving a bus, I couldnt really party but that didnt stop me from staying awake all night…. and socialise with strippers, hookers and other scum of the earth(me included)… nothing like strippers and hookers in afterhours, they know how to party…

no it was local, wouldn’t exactly be particularly environmentally aware to travel 200 miles on a whim, this group is trying to move peoples lifestyles away from this..

Good crime reporters aren’t going to bother with a minor incident like a warehouse rave in a disused building when there is a ongoing murder investigation with a white middle class female victim in Bristol, and an interesting cold case from 1974 being brought up in parallel with this investigation.
To be fair the genuine press releases straight from the Emergency Services are accurate, especially when the authorities have to be aware of FOI act and everyone having cameras these days, its the angle the media organisations what get them put on them. For instance it seems that the cops on NYE arrested those responsible for the fire and damage (a very small minority, who may well have tried to resist being brought to justice) – but they left everyone else alone to pack up the party, yet the many media sources report this implys there was a large disturbance (which if this happened would have made its way onto the video sites by now).

yeah 200miles is not enviormentally frinedly! bet it was a wicked site though stone henge all snowed up and full of promise! i will make it one christmas, bet it has a completly different vibe to the summer solstice
the police were fine untill the building cought on fire and were even then still very resonable, they also had cardiff & city on aswell as the murder hunt and other nye schinanagans, i think the 3 people were arrested for different things, but thats a hunch!
whoever did set fire to the building next door = brainless fools!
you had that at one end of a party and at the other end you had 4 kids sleeping soundly in an office above the soundsystem, with there mattresses sleeping bags teddys etc!
whoever set fire to the building, got the party shut down, no question. that party could of carried on deep untill saturday night

The arrests were for public order and criminal damage (it would take a lot of expensive CSI type work to prove exactly who set the fire). TBH it seems like the cops would only have been there to protect the Fire and Rescue Service and to guard access to the area as a routine procedure, and anyone stupid enough to try and get in their way or remonstrate with them (even if they wanted the rave to shut down) got what they deserved.

there was no hassle for the fire crews , and very good communication between ravers and police, alot of peope that were there at that time were old heads and completly understood what needed to happen,
i ment i think the arrests we made at the start of the night ( infact i know that ) and theyve been bundled in that report
theres no way they copuld find out who started the fire, that needs to be left to the ravers
January 4, 2011 at 12:09 pm #1233533NYE is often a time when people what don’t like each other end up crossing paths and settle old scores / grudges (it happened at a NYE rave I was at about 5 years ago) – TBH its fairly common for even licensed venues to have fires set in them or be trashed by spiteful people and cops know this too… they and Fire and Rescue actually train for scenarioes such as a fire in a illegal rave.. (you can find this stuff out on FOI if you delve deeply enough)
It clearly seems that most people accepted that after this incident the party should wind down. but woudln’t surprise me if a few chavvy youths (probably linked to the fire) did try throwing a few things at the cops out of spite (and out of sight of the more sensible ravers…) – even if those didn’t also get nicked the cops would report this.. even if its one 14 year old kid making “oink” noises and throwing a plastic bottle which misses it gets reported as “cops under attack”.
In Essex someone deliberately punctured a 2000l LPG tank to try and fuck up a local pub’s NYE celebrations and the blue lights had to deal with this quite quickly!
January 4, 2011 at 12:22 pm #1233544im just glad that the people that matter understand that the fire was an unwanted by product of what was a very good party, and that things are in place to stop this happening, whoever did do it should sleep uneasly as they ended alot of peoples NYE swiftly!

Sounds like you’ve been slipped some mate
January 9, 2011 at 11:21 am #1233534nah I have also been slightly unwell for the last few days. Nothing life-threatening, but no point making your health worse by caning your body by taking loads of drugs and travelling hundreds of miles and feeling shit for 3 weeks, when you can calm down for one week and recover in that time… and as I said in that last post the party scene has fucked up loads of my old mates..
Ipswich may not seem like the most “happening” town but since I moved here in 2006 so many good things have happened in my life outside the party/drugs scene compared to when I was deeply involved in it – things I hadn’t expected to happen but why jepoardise them for a weekend of “fun”?
January 9, 2011 at 7:13 pm #1233547yes i was never really did much drugs and i take to long recovering from alcohol now once you reach your late twenties its time to leave it behind, some pill poppers in their 30’s that refuse to move on are quite sad, you cant tell the young but the less you drink and take the more fun you’ll have. A session drink leaves me weak and ill for days now its not worth it
