Get as many as you can if you like the music.
The BBC haven’t got the cash to archive them properly as its seen as “minority” interest and they have to do copyright paperwork etc which private individuals do not, and because the the bosses are really pissed off they are being judged for bullying and letting nonces overrun the place in the wake of the Jimmy Saville enquiries they are laying off all the staff in places such as archives and eliminating their positions to pay for compensation claims.
A mate of mine who is a ex BBC presenter has confirmed this, and some other older friends had their quality control/monitoring unit they used to work at closed down (what was funny is I used to exchange banter with them about being a ex radio pirate, listening to fed and peoples private phone calls on radio scanner and they said “yeah we do that ourselves at home with our scanners and we listen to the better pirates (this was before community radio)”, they were proper brainy chaps as well.
I wouldn’t even rule out in 10-20 years time a researcher from Radio 2 posting here and asking “has anyone got any copies of those jungle shows so we can repeat them?”
