I’ve had a particularly busy week at work (two other facilities guys are on holiday so I ended up with a lot of basic maintenance jobs like fixing plugs, electric safety inspection (it takes 5 mins for me to wire the plug then 10 more to fill in the fucking safety paperwork) and also a surveillance/security related task I’d rather not discuss in public but I wasn’t happy about as although this is part of my work things like that really dent your faith in humanity.

so what spare time I have had I have been mostly spending in my workshop and studio trying to tidying and working on some electronics projects – at least one job (replacing an obsolete nurse call point with a telephone bell) yielded a hoard of useful bits like a mirrored lamp opal (so it can show two colours) and the shell of the call point itself I made into a headphone socket for the switched headphone feed.

it is really dead here, is this an autumnal comedown ?
