yo guys, i’m havin a bit of a shindig on friday to celebrate my coming of age, got a good mix of peeps, booze, drugs, garden decorated with fancy lights, bbq, fire material, seating and heater (garden kitted out thanks to paul m). Also got a couple of boards out back for some drunken graffing. oh and of course music to suit all tastes. Not forgetting my newly aquired smoothie maker for yummy cocktails…..anyone got any tips for other essential ingredients for such an event? Hmmmm, me thinking perhaps a sundance to make sure it doesn’t rain!! Anyone got any good house party stories? :alcoholic :bounce_ci :apathy: :bigsmile:

sounds like you thought of everything! should be a ruud party…cant wait..
gen and retard are well right about smoking supplies- only one lighter (or two that work together) is well annoying, but not really the hosts duty. i used to buy two packs of fags to parties, one for me and one to scatter around the house (behind sofas, in corners), so come nine in the morn, there is always a snout for rolling, a bit like chocolates on the cristmas tree!

We had some ledgendary parties at our old house in Sonning, oh yes.
will try and dig out some piccies too when I get home….Anway, tips :
Preperatoipn is the key. We used to spend two days getting ready for a party, and about a week getting it all back together…All breakables ( TV / DVD etc ) in the garage / loft / locked room. Along with all sharp knives from the kitchen drawers.
We used to completly strip all the downstairs rooms of all funiture, and ornaments, and well everything actually. Stuck all the chairs / sofas in one for a chillout room. Cover the carpets with bits of off cuts, and underlay to protect against red wine / ciggies. Only speakers and lights, in the “main room ” . Nothing can get broken. And you can relax……
Another good idea is to *personally* visit every one in your street and warn them about it. Tell them what to expect ( like it’s gonna be loud, there’s gonna be shit loads of people ) Give them YOUR number ( and perhaps one other ), be really arse kissy with them, and they will phone YOU rather than the police if they have had enough…
Oh and my favorite is when everyone is totally monged out come the next day, be the first person to start tiding up. You WILL be suprised by how much drugs you find ( if it’s that kinda party 🙂 )

March 8, 2005 at 9:02 pm #1064641cool guys, lots of top tips there, espec regarding lighters, but i find even if you start off with a million you still only end up with one a couple of hours into the party!!! It should be cool, and i can’t wait to test out the smoothie maker with some weird and wonderful concoctions!! I’d love to invite you all but have a load of peeps comin already (hopefully!) . If anyone is brighton based maybe pm me.
The thing i love about parties the most is getting all your different groups of mates together in one place to mix (ie the drunkards, pill heads, shroomers etc all become one!!).
Also you get control over the music, he he, its gonna be hard drum and bass all the way interspersed with indie, rock, funk and hip hop, i try and cater for everyone. Plus I’ve got someone coming who can actually play decks-coz I’m crap-yippee!! :bounce_g: 😛 🙂
