looks like it is as a direct result of scum that brought it on top for last weeks psy party…

heres the organisers statement. the important bits in red. if your going to scum next month id insure you have your drugs firmly stashed! can see them stopping ans searching people a lot more now.

      Hello my friends,

      Hope that all is well

As you all know, the Itzama Crew party/celebration was cancelled this last Saturday night – 06/11/2010.

We would like to apologize to everyone that was involved in this party and that put all his body and soul to create such a beautiful/creative/energetic environment….

It was really frustrating to see all of the hard work done in the last week, just being destroyed.

We want to Thank you all so much for everything you guys have done and for all the support given… Itzama staff, Group4Peas, Deco crew, soundsystem crew, Josephine, Djs, Friends….

      THANK YOU!!!!!

      We are truly grateful

We also want to apologize to all the party goers that have been supporting our crew since day one and that were looking forward for this party… We are really sorry that your plans were “destroyed” and that you couldn’t enjoy everything that was planned for you guys…

As you are all part of our Crew, we would like to explain and clarify what happened, why it happened and what we have all learned from it.

It was 21.45pm last Saturday when Police entered the squat…

The party was completely ready to start, deco crew was just giving their last touch of magic, soundsystem was already on with a low volume, bar was prepared, toilets clean, stalls and chai tea all ready…

We didn’t know they were inside the buildings, when they entered the main floor and said to everyone to leave the premises now…

Some people left the squat and was searched outside…

The rest stayed by the building were some people live…. Police wouldn’t allow anyone to go inside of any of the buildings..

At this point, and so that you can have a picture, you could see a group of people frustrated by what was happening but calm and willing to speak with the officers with a positive attitude, trying to explain our values, our ideas and insist in the fact that we are a peaceful crowd who have the right to party with friends, who have the right to express themselves through different areas and aspects…

Police officers started to relax and to communicate with all of us, they explained that the techno party at the previous weekend has put a huge pressure on them, as it was turned public and it was shown at all media bringing a big issue about security… So they were there to prevent anything like last weekend from happening again and to stop unsafe things to happen.

We are different individuals and for as much as the ideas of partying or reacting are different we know that the goal is the same….so there’s no point on trying to compare or make accusations… In fact, making accusations will not sort out any of our problems. Its up to us to solve them.

I believe the police officers who stayed there with us actually understand that all we wanted was to exert the right we have to party peacefully and being free to have a gathering without having to inform the whole government of what we are or what we are doing, we are free people who are trying to create a peaceful, energetic and safe environment and also trying to raise the standards of psytrance parties even higher, as they should be!!!

We had to wait about two and a half hours for the superintendent and other superiors from the Police and Fire squad to wake up and come to the building to check it and make a decision whether the party should continue or not…

We could understand their concerns and it was actually a surprise that they didn’t just shut down the party… we want to believe they have quite understand that we were a different crowd with a well organized party…. But it was taking long for a decision…

Finally they arrived and went all over the buildings to check everything… THANK YOU John for all of your support…
They have made some points regarding the safety issues…such as not enough fire exits, signalled and not wide enough…

We then wait for another half an hour… during this time, the police officers that stayed with us were telling us that it wouldn’t take too long for them to leave and for the party to start!!! Unfortunately, they reached a decision..

They wanted someone to be responsible for the whole party…and if we decided to go on with it, they would break in and stop it, while the responsible person would get (between lines) arrested…

Well for as much as our will to start the party was big, there is no point to put anyone in jeopardy and it would be also completely selfish to create such situation that could lead to a possible eviction of everyone who is living there…

So DECISION made… no party for this weekend…!!!

I don’t think we need to say how disappointed we all were with the whole situation… once again we apologize to everyone involved in the party and to everyone who were getting ready to party….

But for as much as we were sad, this will not bring anyone down… Bad things happen all the time and we could either put our heads down or we can stand up, learn from our mistakes and make it even better, which is our GOAL!!!

We have always tried to be completely aware of health and safety issues, but it would be naive to say that we know all and that this was covered completely…. We want absolutely safe places and environments for all of us and that’s why we are already taking measures and defining tactics to make it happen…

I also understand that many of you are pretty upset with all of it but for as much as it costs to all of us time, effort and money, and for as much as you want to make accusations or blame it on someone or think that being agressive would be a solution… spare that thought to come up with good ideas and projects… We belive in communication and knowledge in order to achieve something and most of all LOVE… love for what you we are doing and love to whom you are doing it…. as Ernesto “CHe” Guevara once said, when asked about what is a Revolution all about, he answered “Its about LOVE”

So when we speak about raising the standards of psytrance parties, we mean it… Its not just about booze and abuses, we want to make a statement about who we are and about our values and beliefs… Squat parties should deserve the same respect as any other events, its up to us to create them in a way where every aspect is looked after with the same value.

It can be an utopia, but we are willing to fight for it.

Metpol did this last time there was a boom in the rave scene. they aren’t that stupid, what they want to do is deter the “middle class users” esp. from outside the capital as being bailed to re-attend London police stations at your own expense is a hassle even when it usually results in only a Caution.

This isn’t a empty threat either. Its happened to two of my friends in SE England (as early as 2003 and 2004) and also the lads we know from the East.

For one the cops passed on his personal details to the solicitors of the building owner, who launched a civil claim for damages. They are still chasing him for this money (about £40 000) and the dudes own bank was helping the building owners track him down (they can do this as some sort of mutual agreement against fraud. its in the small print of your bank account contract). he’s subsequently also had all kinds of rum things happen every time he’s tried to get credit, either refused or the slightest dispute with his creditors and he’s arrested…

TBH this may mean at some later date these guys get to party when others cant – this stuff appears on your record for other coppers as I have found out in the last few years. Its wise to pack away and live to party another day and I am often the responsible person at parties [if they are being well run] as it means they are more likely to be allowed to happen. It does mean that I have to be sure the site I am responsible for is immaculate when we leave [photos to prove this are handy] but thats part of what we do anyway so its no problem.

metpol in West/ NW London locked off rave against the machine within a few minutes (party was shut down but AFAIK no one was hurt or rigs taken)

they openly said to the ravers “we’re doing this because we got made to look like chumps at scumoween”.
