do you know what i mean though, because i find it quite frustrating when people try to say what’s the worst crime n stuff as it’s all perception and some people actually get turned on by being attacked n stuff!

but in this idealistic situation everyone else would have decriminalised drugs, so the only reason anyone would be up before the beak would be for a real crime.

And there are sentencing guidelines anyway, above certain level poly would not be able to do anything other than send the case up to a Crown Court where it is judged by a real judge and a jury of peers decides guilt.

Of course this situation can also be flawed, and prejudices can get in but an idealised society would surely have tried to remove them…

there is the famous joke where one juror sees a black man in a decent suit, says to the others “well, he’s definitely guilty, in spite of his smart suit”.

Later on the black dude does turn up in Court – but as well as his suit, he is now wearing wig, gown and robes :laugh_at:

On the one law that i could pass that would improve societies behaviour, it would be this; ramadam starts friday, i would move it the 1st of november, have it last until mid december, when uni students break up, and on top of ramadam style (minus the prayers, its not about religion) i would have tv broadcasting, radio and pubs shut down during this period, we would have a wonderful christmas and have a much better outlook on life.
This is not going to happen, so just do yourself.

there is a thread about this somewhere, he was planning to use a megaphone to play pranks with in Hyde Park and perhaps other areas of London, and film the results.

I remember suggesting a good place in South London for this (the centre of a large roundabout where 5 boroughs meet) as I lived in the area many years ago and me and a local friend had earmarked it for this use but never got round to it. I was then totally spun out when I looked on Google Maps and the entire roundabout had disappeared – of course over the last two decades trams were brought back to the area (I’d forgot about this) and major changes were made to the road layout to accomodate them.

The target area was now a small taxi rank, which sadly held insufficient comedy value to risk being arrested or knocked down.
