Where would everyone’s ideal setting be? What music would you have? etc :star: :star: :star: :star:
February 28, 2005 at 4:36 pm #1064440Anonymousin the woods
rigs: DNB, Dub/Reggae, Techno, HipHop, chillout/cafe/ambient.
loads of decor, and a little trippy/ sqishy area for all the fuckups.
plenty of parking space, on a hill overlooking the sea.
tonnes of shrooms, mdma etc top quality suppied by sound people.
UNFORTUNATELY, we cant really do partyvibe freeparties, as the cops would be on us like flys on shit, and possibly shut the site, maybe?
but we can do legal events (afaik).
i should be sorting out some fundraisers in the summer for pv, but i have a few missions to sort first, so after may basically.
we can also organise anything we want here, so if we come up with a name which disascoiates the rave with the site, should be all good? lighting and site are the ones who know all dees ting.
check my ideal rave site design..what dya rec? on rig only, but multiples fit into each other (tessalate).

Stall with Laughing Gas, Shroom, mdma etc….

February 28, 2005 at 11:25 pm #1064444Use, i can’t get my head round that picture – looked at it a couple of times and still can’t fathom what it is/meant to be.
please enlighten me!!
March 1, 2005 at 9:40 am #1064448Yeah all sounds cool, I think I’d def have to have a party on a sandy beach with some podiums set up so you could dance properly. I’d have a big fire goin on and yeah loadsa fire toys.
Def have a chillout area with lanterns, beanbags and some cray visuals goin on.
Have people giving out lolli-pops and ice poles
Music would have to be a mix of dnb, trance, hard house, hip hop, breakbeat and only the finest, purest drugs would be available from a cool beach bar also selling gorgeous alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails.
Ooooh and loads of hand drumming under the stars :star: :rainbow: :star:
March 1, 2005 at 9:51 am #1064445multi rig party in the woods.
Munt / Section 63 / Ravenous linked up playing techno
Storm and Surge linked up playing Hardtrance
Ninebar playing Drum & Bass
Crossbones playing gabba
Armarda playing old skool n breaks
Itsy Bitsy just being them selves
SNORTED!
March 1, 2005 at 11:50 am #1064437Apart from the legal issues I’d be a bit uncomfortable TBH asking free party crews for money…
The ones in our area have suffered losses recently and need all the spare cash they can get from donations etc.
Costs have increased if anything as indoor parties now require genset power as well. people no longer depend on the mains power supply in derelict buildings for safety, legal reasons and its often been removed anyway (cops encourage the electric companies to do this for safety and to discourage squatters)
Its hard enough getting money out of people as it is..
So any PV fundraiser would have to be a licensed event of some kind..
But as for ideal parties I’d go for Andy_Aztek’s selection with the addition of the Sokaid crew 😉
USE – perhaps turn up the lighting on that image a bit? It looks good on the flat-screen display I have at work; but at home on a CRT monitor I have to change the gamma/colour balance of the image to see it properly (which of course may wreck the colours you were intending to use…)

costs of london parties are going up and up.
A. alot of crews are now putting on semi legal events (like Love Tek) which require renting a building.
B. londons got so dodgy that alot of crews are now hiring door staff.
i dont think fundraiser parties realy work….you can charge a fiver on the door if you need to hire door crews / buildings. its only fair. but at an normal warehouse party or barn party you cant realy do much apart from ask for donations or ‘pound for the sound’, which alot of the time people will chuck a few coppors in slyly or tell you they are broke.

its a design for a foldaway rave site that fits in a transit van that i made in 3d
cgi. i am gonna get it made eventually. its has a bunch of eucidian and platonic symbolism in it, its meant to be the base for a lovely geometric trip. the dj booth is in the middle in the dome (quitessence/ 5th element), speakers that are too small
to the left as you look at it, then dancefloor (earth), chillout tent (wind),
fire+benches (fire) and first aid/free water point (water) going round it.to be honest, because of the lighting, i cant actually make a full-quality render on
a normal pc ( it would take it about a week), so the above pic is a bit pixelly)here is a pic of it on an iceberg with some people too its toobig…hope this helps 🙂

back on track…do we think more rigs or bigger stacks or more communication and synergy at multiriggers?

Can the computer program you used to design the dome also produce the dimensions of the tubes etc needed, so you could just send that up to some engineering place which would then deliver the tubes ready-cut?
Quote:back on track…do we think more rigs or bigger stacks or more communication and synergy at multiriggers?certainly a case of more communication and synergy.
Big raves and festivals have already been done years ago; TBH they were no better than smaller ones and a in many cases a lot worse, such as the large commercial events of the early 1990s where an organised group of muggers rinsed a section of the crowd from the middle despite a large security presence, and violence was common.
I will be quite blunt here – In many cases a rave merely involves the bringing together a diverse collection of often male-dominated groups, who are in some cases merely “united” by a common love of music, drugs and (in some cases) the chance of casual sexual partners.
Despite our claims of “new communities” etc it is often very little more than a hedonistic crowd, of groups which still all have their own separate allegiances and personal differences, as well as the usual element of territorialism and competitiveness.
By and large this doesn’t cause major problems at the moment (drugs keep down much of the latent agression) , crews work together despite differences – OTOH the same “binge culture” from our cities, towns and villages is now creeping into the rave scene, particularly as drugs drop in price and increase in availablity and alcohol use at raves is more common.
But as a large event goes on, the substances run out, people become tired, comedowns and paranoia set in.
Without the controlling influences of stewards, bouncers, cops, we really do need good communication and real empathy between people to prevent a “lord of the flies” situation occuring. This is something that has to a great extent been achieved at most large parties and multiriggers in the South-East; but it is something that is only achieved by good organisation and constant vigilance.

April 10, 2009 at 9:14 am #1064443Har Har… Dr. B finding more ancient threads.
TBH a Partyvibe party would be good fun. Anyone got a field?
Tens all the way though…..
April 10, 2009 at 12:57 pm #1064439Random fact : when this thread started I lived in the area Binge now lives in and Binge now lives there and I am only 27 miles away from Binges old house!
Also we could never get away with mentioning all these crew names today as cops would start asking questions.
However one positive thing is there is now the opportunity to legally hold a party using the TENS license which Globaloon (and others) have done on a number of occasions…
April 10, 2009 at 2:22 pm #1064450there isnt going to be a partyvibe party
its impractical
SJ manages legal things though
