They are responsible for large ammounts of the deforestation of the amazon to grow soya, even more so than McDonalds, and the ultra fickle food miles thing is a crock of shit as well.
I mean people who were a year ago buying organic veg to make themselves feel better are now only buying organic local veg. So all the foreign farmers who rely on selling their wares to supermarkets etc to survive started going organic and now we don’t want it because its come from too far away. Its cost them too much to produce to sell to the locals and make any money and they can’t sell it to us now so they are fucked.
I only eat good food. I buy only organic fruit and veg and top quality meat but that is nothing to do with my conscience. It is to do with the quality of the product.
Anyhow heres a nice wee article on the subject that might make you think a bit about how you choose where your food should come from.

(p.s last time I was ina McDonalds I was “detained” for pouring a bucket of ming all over the floor and am now banned from all McDonalds in the UK so don’t get me wrong I think fast food chains are bastards)
I wasnt questioning your ethics, maybe I just took it the wrong way.
Im not vegan or vegetarian but i am coeliac which complicates my diet somewhatIf I lived on a farm I would grow all my own food, rear and slaughter my animals, unfortunately I live in the East End of London and have to gat my veg delivered by the box (local co-op) and trust my butcher when he says his meat is free range etc
Its a totally fucked up system, flying in planes of bananas from uganda and as for things like coffee…. sourced from multiple countries/growers/farmers, mixed to be packaged up in a beautiful litlle packet on the shelf in tescos its all WRONG!
