even in Malaysia / Singapore (more so SG as its small and the net is laid out in a certain way) the worst what could happen is is a bobby comes round with the communications ministry officers, and if no large quantiies of drugs or anything else bad is found, they sit the youth down with their parents and tell them how they are shaming their family and country by admitting to such behaviour. This alone is enough of a scare to make them be more careful what they post, so they simply stop using sites like this or (perhaps out of spite/envy?) target them for spam. Its harsher and its censorship, but these days they do not get hanged, arrested or beat with a bamboo stick any more – for that someone needs to be using or dealing loads.
