i have a confession to make…
this weekend all i did was sleep, eat, skin up, drink beer and watch movies
someone even texted me to tell me about a party about 15 miles away.
but i sat firm on my ass and skun up again.
Right, anyway, now it’s time to vote… and your votes will actually count(*)
Is ‘Express Yourself’ by Family Foundation worth £25 or not? I probably have until morning to decide…
(*)i reserve the right to do as i do… youknowsit
October 26, 2004 at 3:22 pm #1062912AnonymousDid you buy it?
And nothing wrong with having a lazy weekend, i went home and let my old dear cook for me whilst i read the paper all weekend- a change is often nice.
October 26, 2004 at 3:54 pm #1062914always worth having a bit of “time off” (particularly if you are crew person) – then again my “weekend off” ended up at The_Daves’s birthday party at which I probably got into almost as much of a state as I would at a full on rave 😀

Not yet!
Pay day today and is still available… but I can’t make up my mind.
I do love the tune, and I would play it..but £25 is a lot for one 13 year old tune.
so post your votes now!
Yes! buy the tune and don’t be so tight!
No! Go out an spend the money on ********
or
Get with the times you sad old raver!
lettuce and tomato
October 26, 2004 at 4:33 pm #1062915If you’re a DJ, normally use vinyl (or this is the main playback source available) and are gonna play it out for the enjoyment of others and it would add to your set (or it brings back particularly good memories) then buy it.
If not, then download it…
October 26, 2004 at 10:28 pm #1062919so folks it’s almost head and head with…

October 27, 2004 at 11:04 am #1062913AnonymousI personally would go for an eighth, half ounce of drum gold and a packet of blue rizzla, leaving enough for a coffee and perhaps a pastry afterwards.
Saying that, it is a storming track.
That’ll be two for ambiguity!October 27, 2004 at 3:50 pm #1062920ye gods!
i decided to buy it, and along with a couple of others I have managed to spend all of the money I have saved in the last 3 weeks by not smoking fags.
😎
Hopefully as the use of my wheeze bags increases I’ll be able to dance just like the energetic teenager I was when ‘Express Yourself’ came out.
OO, me lumbago’s playing up again 😉
November 1, 2004 at 5:54 pm #1062917Anonymousi haven’t been doing shit except sorting my own sorry life out- moving house, for fairly dark reasons, left uni, gettin job etc. so i have helped no parties in about a month! on the other hand, its cold as fuck and im not an indoor party kinda bloke. on top of that, internet connection at my last hous was a nightmare frrom begginning to end, never happened, so my moderator status has not been fully fulfilled. gimme a month i’ll be back in the game…peace to all the laze-or beams chillin wit a bifta, respect to all the hardcore keepinkeepin on…

well that was an anti-climax…
I finally made up my mind (no thanks to you lot), ordered the tune, only to find i’d deliberated too long and it was out of stock already.:(
BUT, the shop charged my card £25 anyway and said they’d send me another copy if and when it came into stock (bearing in mind it was deleted about a decade ago). Hmmm, not sure about that.
Finally, after several weeks of waiting, out of the blue is a little (well, 12″) surprise in the post? “Nice one” I thought, time to wake the neighbours, and “lucky it wasn’t next week cos I would have moved house and not recieved it.”
Am I happy yet? No. Why not? Because it’s so scratched up that the needle jumps like crazy and it can’t be played.
I phoned the shop and they said “send it back”. Which is OK I suppose, except that I’m left thinking:
“why insult me by sending me a useless lump for £25?”
“What was the point in all that?”
“Did they think I wouldn’t notice that this 12 inch tune that cost £25 doesn’t even play?”I can’t remember what PV policy is on naming certain companies that are good or bad, but if dr bunsen doesn’t like this, he can delete it…
Hard To Find Records … You Suck 😡
November 9, 2004 at 6:31 pm #1062916sorry to hear about that nightmare experience… particularly as you were looking forward to getting that tune.
There are a critical posts all over the internet on HTFR – most of which relate to slow or poor customer service, allegations of cliquiness and arrogance amongst their staff, charging cards before goods delivered and problems with stock levels.
To be fair probably no worse than many other commercial organisations – a lot of them particularly SMEs tend to sell over and above their customer service capacity, do not realise the importance of meeting customer expectations particularly with regard to delivery times and try to “cherry pick” customers whom they “like” or who “fit in” (also happens in bike shops and other specialist shops)
(sheesh, that was almost like a work email – maybe I should become a management consultant 😀 )
December 6, 2004 at 4:46 pm #1062922this debacle is still going on…
having returned the record weeks and weeks ago, having had two email last week ignored and having spoken to James in ‘returns’ on several occasions and being told “your refund will have cleared by wednesday” two weeks running,
HARD TO FIND RECORDS STILL OWE ME £27
bastards:mad:
December 11, 2004 at 12:00 am #1062923wow thats crappy. i admire getting the tune some of the best are the ones from a while ago. if it gets to bad kick the guy in returns in the nuts and say” return my money bitch”

January 14, 2008 at 11:12 pm #1062927They still owe me 20 quid for a warped record i sent back via special delivery about 4 years ago that I was too lazy to chase up. Bastards.

Even though I don’t know what tune it is you are on about, because the tune means so much to you, if you do not buy it, then you will probably regret the missed opportunity!..You can always sell it again if you ever get desperate….So go for it, I would, if a tune meant that much to me!:bounce_fl :bounce_g: :bounce_fl :bounce_g: :bounce_fl :bounce_g: :bounce_fl :bounce_g: :bounce_fl :bounce_g: :bounce_fl :bounce_g: :bounce_fl
