hello i write from norway i’m 27 and i’m planning to move to uk
i’m an old cars and electronic music fan , i produce my music since 2k and i mix since 2005 . i really loved freeparties in the past but i saw the folks getting more and more stupid in the last years and the freeparty scene worse and worse , specially in italy where i come from . i still like teknivals but last one i’ve been was the boom-off in portugal ( 08 ) so i can’t know if everything screwed up also in teks or something good is left , really hope so . if somebody was there , i runned my liveset on the big orange-green fancy rig all the way down on the beach
i would like to share things about music production , hw and sw setups , sequencers , recording and mixing , synthesizers and all this boring technical shit , is there a section for that ? cause i see something just about pa and playing live , but nothing about how to actually make the music .
cheers
April 27, 2011 at 7:35 pm #1238739You own any Synths/Sequencers?
April 27, 2011 at 8:12 pm #1238744hi there , i had few korg grooveboxes , a yamaha rm1x and a waldorf blofeld synth , i still like the er – 1st series electribe and the esx but that one screwed up few years ago , trying to fix it now cause i want to restore a full hardware liveset . but i like really much softwares , while making tracks i use to do everything with ableton live and a bunch of good vst’s , binary code is powerful 😉
looking forward to get an analog monosynth though , either a studio electronics se1x , a moog slim phatty or a doepfer DE .if you produce some music give me a link , i’m curious . although i’m a d&b-breakbeat-techfunk guy , i listen a bit of everything
cheers !
April 27, 2011 at 8:16 pm #1238740I have a Korg EMX, Kaoss pad 3, Roland MC-09 and plan to purchase a Tenori-On and x0xb0x. I love the Yamaha RM1X!!
April 27, 2011 at 8:27 pm #1238745are you using these machines only for liveset or for production too ? cause imho without direct outputs ( like in the emx or in the 909 unless you have the expansion card ) the multitrack recording gets tricky and really long that’s why the only two machines in my wishlist are the monosynth ( record a single stereo track and go ) and a virus ti ( no need to record it at all while using the total integration )
the rm1x is weird , it sounds really old but i’ll probably use it again as main sequencer for other modules in a liveset

I got mixed up with the RS7000 and RM1X, the RM1X is the proper cheap one 😛
I use the EMX for live, I don’t use the KP3 so i’m gonna sell it and I use the Roland MC-09 to get Acid synth lines into the EMX.
April 28, 2011 at 1:03 pm #1238746and here he comes mat . argh . seems like we can’t be friends any longer
just kidding , the fact mat busted my balls longtime ago doesn’t mean that we can’t chat about machines :biggreen:
use the Roland MC-09 to get Acid synth lines into the EMX.
i didnt get this , does the emx have an audio in ? if so , i didnt remember that . btw i don’t know if this is a good idea , the korg tubes aren’t that great . but if you can run the audioIn through the effect section then the tale changes
April 28, 2011 at 2:25 pm #1238742MIDI in. It makes you able to do so much more than what you can do on the MC-09 alone.

April 28, 2011 at 4:03 pm #1238747javle bra , jeg allerede fikk o svart til m.p. din , forumen ser bra ut
vi snakkes@poly ok so you want to write the stuff on the 09 and send it to the emx as you would do with a module , this can be a great idea cause the ease of use of the korgs step seq can soon turn out in a pissing limit . don’t know really well the roland seq. but i guess is much more powerful.
btw , the korg sound isn’t that good neither imho ( yeah , fat enough but always-the-same oriented , unless we talk about old fashion badass monsters like ms20 ) so i’d suggest you to bring a pure synth in your setup and choose one of the the two grooveboxes as sequencer+drumpart if you like the hardware , instead of having 2 all-around machines together
cheers
