March 31, 2007 at 11:17 am #1060790Hiya am new, tumbled in here by accident, was lookin for free party stuff round bristol (UK) and came across all u guys!
Am an old party head (34!!!), most of the 90s, had illegal, possibly immoral, amounts of fun! but things moved on, travelled, lived abroad (in Tarifa for a while), got a job i love an now back in the area . . .
Did lots of drugs, thru the good and into the beyond but had lots an lots an lots of fun, am happy without but man I miss the music and the dancin, free parties in Bristol and Soutwest.
Am back an thinkin gotta dance, good music, good weather . . . so am gonna keep an eye out an look up some old friends.

I’m still working my way round this place :crazy:, and yep there def seems 2 b a wide mix of people.
I left the scene so completely when I was away I kinda figured it had drifted away (the way it was) but i been lookin an i reckon its evolved.
U hear ‘its not as good as the old days:yawn:’ but it’s different is all.
The freedom we had on the late 80s when I started out has gone for sure :cry:. U gotta high-tail it to the hills to get a hassle-free party nowadays.
BUT the people who get there REALLY want to be and theres less chance of casual idiots who don’t get the feelin :wave:.
Some of my old music makes me grin, real old skool, terrible production etc but oh what fun we had! Music much higher production quality now and its easier to access new stuff (there didne used to be an internet!!!!!!).
Anyway i got blah blahing heheheh

March 31, 2007 at 12:15 pm #1060792P. S. As a favour to a friend I recently had to give a 19yr girl from Brunai a tour of Bristol. I showed her the suspension bridge, the docks (arnolfini arts centre etc etc), cathedral an stuff. The proper tour.
We got chatting and turns out she into graffiti. So I took her down Stokes Croft and showed her an original banksy (The Mild Mild West, teddy vs police for anyone who knows). She took photos etc sent em to all her mates and it turns out that standing on that scutty pavement was the highlight of her trip!
Go figure, Banksy is truly international now!!!!!! Aint life wierd:wink:

I havent been with it since about 92/93 (young teenager then) but recently I’ve had a spark of drive to get into the free party scene again. and really miss those early 90’s, zero b lock up, rachel wallace tell me why, age of love, urban shakedown sweet harmony, castle morton – oh if only I had a time machine hehe

Im over in Brunei a lot as its just over the border from me and its strange that girl was into graffiti as I hav never seen any there and the laws there are harsh to say the least on any such behavior you can not do fuk all there thats probly why all the Bruneins Ive met outside the country luv to party and now it seems graffiti to:weee: Hi ya daniel92 good ere innit!:love:

mind you last time I was back there (1994) is appeared to be tolerated for private businesses to spray paint (small) stencilled adverts on walls, lamp posts and other street furniture.
it was usually a stencil of a dripping tap and a number for some Chinese plumbers, and these ads were everywhere I went….
