The problem with chat rooms is that a lot of slang terms and abbreviations (making words shorter) get used which you probably don’t pick up in your language studies.
I can understand you just fine on here though. You too Kiblik.
I admire people who can master another language. Being a lazy English git I only know my own language and even that comes difficult sometimes.

hi there and welcome to partyvibe! I only managed 1 or 2 spiral events but I was young then! Good to see a few of you are still about…
was Debs the same lady who did the advance party stuff to try and combat CJA! If so I’ve been to a few meetings in London with her.
are you still raving? what do you think of the scene today?

Hallo! Just wanted to introduce meself to all you Party Vibe people, nice place you got here.
Well a wee bit about myself – I’ve returned down to the deep abyss that is Suffolk, after being at uni in Bristol for the past three years (such a good scene there – best parties I’ve ever been to, especially Dissident nights).
I’m finding it to be a bit of a needle in a haystack job down here at the mo – the only time I’ve found out about local parties so far is after hearing about ‘hundreds of revellers in terrible ‘rave’ gathering’ on the local news.
The people I used to speak to about the scene have now buggered off away from Suffolk, so would be great to hear from any of you in the Suffolk/Norfolk/Cambridgeshire/Essex areas who wouldn’t mind adding me to MSN or emailing etc to get me up to speed.
Lookin forward to wobbling my rump in a warehouse/field/other miscellaneous space near you soon. To the music that is.
Bonjour bonjour.

Interests include psychedelia, krautrock, industrial, electronica , noise – fave artistes range from Psychic TV, Hallucinogen, Amon Duul, Roky Erickson, Merzbow, Butthole Surfers…looking forward to the ride!
…back to the music for now….
Allla the best

May 1, 2006 at 10:05 am #1059843Hi Ben! Good to see you on here!
With my family background (my extended family are from Malaysia) I think its excellent to see people building real bridges and links between East and West like you are doing.
A lot of people just go to Thailand etc to enjoy the cheap nightlife but you are actively contributing to the society there and integrating.
I’ve noticed an increasing amount of people from SE Asia lurking on this site as well which is a good thing IMO (particularly as it means we haven’t been filtered in those countries)

May 3, 2006 at 12:34 pm #1059649AnonymousWow… just another 36-year old fomer naughty boy trawling round the web in my lunch hour looking for some old tunes, and I come across all sorts of mentions of Spiral Tribe! Excellent.
I live in Portsmouth (South Coast UK) and grew up (fast) between Central Park (above Ritzy’s) and Sterns in Worthing. Anyone who was there will def remember them. Also participated very heavily in Torpedo Town, Castlemorton, Lechslade, Cissbury Rings – all those massive free parties in the pre criminal justice bill era. Is this ringing a bell with anyone…?
Also used to frequent Mega Dogs at Brixton Academy and Whirl-y-gigs, saw Orbital, System 7, Eat static (etc) dozens of times
Have a slightly grown up job now and have to keep my head down, but am currently a huge breaks fan, Plump DJ’s, Stanton Warriors and Rennie Pilgrem are filling the live performance gap left by the guys above.
Anyway, since getting myself a ‘Pod for Xmas, I’ve been going through my old vinyl and ripping them onto MP3’s: if anyone is doing the same I’d love to swap some those to find tracks. We’ve all got retro hardcore cd’s but some stuff just never made it past plastic.
Post up here if you feel the same and we can swap some of those special moments.
Big Love, MikeyC :alien_abd

May 6, 2006 at 2:33 pm #1059650AnonymousHi there,
I just signed up out of curiosity and boredom I guess, it seems like there are quite a few open minded and decent people here. I live near Woking in Surrey, but enjoy going out to london, though I don’t that often, but that is something I would like to persue further.
I like a lot of music, a lot of which is of the experimental ilk…Godspeed you!black emperor, Do make say think, etc… but for going out, I love anything decent you can dance to.
I’m interested in finding out about decent things worth going out for, free or not. As long as it’d be fun.
cheers

Hi there Welcome to partyvibe!
I know New Cross (too) well as I was born in Lewisham and my family lived in New Cross, Lee and Catford for quite a few years of my life until my parents moved to Reading – and I even moved back to SE London for a bit in the early 90s and first started raving there… it was a bit gnarly on the streets even then but less people got shot.
The South London press though still came up with corkers like “GOLDFISH DIES OF COCAINE OVERDOSE”
Just out of curiosity, is Cavern Records in Lewisham still going?
