How’s it going?
I’m new here, and to the rave scene in general, but I’d really like to get into it. I’m based in York, so I can’t imagine we’re exactly swimming in free parties, but hopefully I’ll be able to find some eventually…
I’m a hobbyist producer, but I’m only just getting into EDM in a real way – I’ve been producing almost longer than I’ve been listening to it.
A few days ago I got back from Leeds Fest, where I saw my first real dance acts (I’m a metal-head, mostly) and I enjoyed them a hell of a lot.
As soon as I got home, I started searching for more festivals and gigs to go to, and eventually I ended up here…
Anyway, it’s my 18th birthday coming up soon and I plan to go to some of The Warehouse Project club nights in Manchester (not exactly underground raves, I know, but it’s still really exciting for me), and hopefully get some MDMA for it as well – it’ll be my first time, since I missed out on it at Leeds.
August 30, 2012 at 9:51 pm #1257505Welcome to the site mate, don’t worry that the Warehouse Project nights ain’t underground raves man, ya first few experiences at these things are great regardless of where they are.
And if you’re looking to try MDMA for the first time, do a bit of research online so u know what you’re getting, lot of dodgy shit masquerading as MD out there these days.
Anyways, enjoy the site & enjoy the whole scene man, sure you will.

Have fun, make friends and stay safe 😉
August 30, 2012 at 10:11 pm #1257500welcome mate – and TBH these days even the Warehouse Project is underground – given how divided England is about EDM. Because my generation overdid things a decade ago there is zero tolerance on all EDM events in my region in spite of it being immediately opposite Holland, so if you have well run events in your region then a good idea to make the most of them…
August 30, 2012 at 10:11 pm #1257507Thanks guys 🙂
I’ve done a fair amount of research, but really I’d need a testing kit to know for sure… My plan is to just go to a ‘reputable dealer’, as it were, and not take too much at once. I hear 100-120mg is about right, perhaps with a smaller ‘top-up’ an hour or so in, but that’s for pure stuff, and I’ll have no idea if it’s cut or not?
General Lighting, does that mean there’s not so much of an illegal rave/free party scene left? I mean, I know there’s not gonna be anything like the ’90s, but I was hoping for the odd forest festival or two 😛

there are still some unlicensed events but they are much less common in big cities or the South as they are closed down quick and penalties are harsh. enforcement varies from region to region, and even in zero tolerance areas there can be TENS licensed outdoor parties (legal for up to 500 people and often not as heavy controlled as a big rave)
raves may still happen up North but a greater factor these days for outdoor events (even if they are tolerated) is weather. UK weather patterns are strange and unpredictable. there may be a few weeks left of the “summer” but otherwise might be next spring before the next season has suitable party weather.
