Basically i downloaded an application ran it for about half an hour now then a blue screen came up saying BAD_POOL_HEADER then shut down, now everytime i turn it on it happens again as im logging in ? it also makes LOUD noises when i turn it on.
I am running vista it is a sony vaio laptop, and i am in safe mode now and it runs fine.
Please say if theres any other info you need.
I will pay £50 via paypal to anyone who can instruct me on how to get out of this, thanks.
Oh and ill also throw you an invite for whatcd and passthepopcorn.
Come please desperate

Try and make a system restore on your computer.. But I don’t really think it will help :hopeless:
If it don’t, try and reinstall windows, but I’m not sure that will help either, but it’s worth a try

when my computer literally went nuts, i just uninstalled windows (if you have vista, do that anyway as it’s shite) and then reinstalled XP (or something else if you want). i’m not amazing with computers but i just wiped everything off and started from scratch again. blue screen is bad but you can get into safe mode so it’s not that fucked i suppose. next time get a mac.

June 23, 2011 at 11:54 am #1241350select boot from CD in bios, put in the windows CD, follow the instructions and reinstall windows, dont download dodgy programs from the net again.
June 23, 2011 at 11:57 am #1241364i’d try windows restore to begin with so you only lose a week or even a couple of days worth of stuff you did on your comp.

June 23, 2011 at 12:54 pm #1241372if it opens in safe mode just do that then uninstall the program and try restart also on loading if i press f8 i can select last known good settings or somethink like that sorry not much help with computers

June 23, 2011 at 1:24 pm #1241355Btw that’s something either to do with your HD,drivers or windows install … could be the HD is nackered, the file system on your HD is corrupt, your windows install is corrupt or part missing, a driver/s is/are corrupt or part missing. You’re probably looking at a reinstall of windows if you can’t restor.

I have tried a system restore to yesterday it didn’t work, shall i go further back ?

im not im saying 50 quid is abit much for just saying restore it to last week he can have 20 thats fair.
You havent got any passthepopcorn invites by any chance have you ?
