March 19, 2008 at 4:28 pm #1158348welcome to partyvibe 🙂
its a friendly place here but you will have to get used to the British sense of humour..
I started off working in IT for the financial services (some years ago) and nearly all the time have always had an IT/finance role (although these days I also do a lot of hardware/networking/infrastructure work), these bear markets/recessions can be worrying
we had a similar recession here in England about 17 years ago but it actually boosted the party scene as although there was less cash about it and made people start up a “DIY culture” of outlaw parties
I reckon though there is gonna be some serious shakeups in the world, not so much “tinfoil helmet” type doomdsay scenarios but a lot of change (more so in USA as you chaps are so much at the mercy of markets compared to many other nations)
these days it seems that investing in real objects / working for companies that make real stuff or services and developing your own skills rather than stocks and shares is becoming more worthwhile..

March 19, 2008 at 4:41 pm #1158367I agree with you 100%
I don’t think the bottom of the housing market has been found yet and now with Bear being sold for $2 a share… this market won’t see much sunlight for a while… Thankfully, my net worth has increased due to the buy out… hehe…
Anyway… Happy to be here… great people and lots of information…
