March 1, 2007 at 2:09 pm #1100031Ah i remember them old hearing tests!
i am confident in my hearing as them stupid mosquito things you see about some times really bugs me!
Its that sound that plays at 17KHz from a black box hanging on walls. They use them to disperse kids from outside shops. Aparently the frequency is to high for adults to hear.
I have actually found a wave file of it and attcahed it. I can hear it if i play my sound through my hifi and not the shitty speakers on the pc…. Also good for pissing my little sister off! she can hear all around the house if i crank my hifi! raaa
March 1, 2007 at 4:00 pm #1099996I can still hear up to around 18.5 KHz which is quite good for someone my age…
that was one reason why I have always preferred free parties and venues with a decent chill out space. If it gets too loud or the rig is badly set up I want somewhere to retreat to..

Not had my hearing tested for a long time, its slightly concerning that most my family are going deaf though…..
The Maker of Mosquito™ ultrasonic deterrent wrote:It seems that there is a very real medical phenomenon known as presbycusis or age related hearing loss which, according to The Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy, “begins after the age of 20 but is usually significant only in persons over 65″. It first affects the highest frequencies (18 to 20 kHz) notably in those who have turned 20 years of age”. It is possible to generate a high frequency sound that is audible only to teenagers.Hum yeah you do have good hearing then GL
March 1, 2007 at 4:26 pm #1100057ur hearing def something that needs looking after, noticed my ears ring for hours after being to an outdoor party or club. Went to Irration Steppas at Subdub @ Leeds West Indian centre where the soundsystem filled the entire wall of the room and my eyes literally shook in my head from the loudness of the bass.
