one of my favourite hardstyle dj’s in vid – daniele mondello . not a fan of the new hardstyle sound , far too much cheese where as mondello tends to stick to the more dark evil sound of the original hardtyle , going to see him at the end of the month and cant wait :bounce_g::bounce_fl

January 20, 2013 at 2:16 pm #1062687There aren’t any festivals i don’t think.. but you’d probably want to go to Qlimax for hardstyle.

you aren’t very likely to find good hardstyle events in the UK. The authorities here hate them as they are associated with drug use/dealing, overdoses and road traffic collisions. Some of my friends did legal events even on a small scale and the authorities found every way possible to discourage them and close them down, or idiots turned up to them and caused trouble.
In the Netherlands the authorities put up with them more as they have made dance music more mainstream then. But they can be as far away as Groningen which is by the German border. I was going to link up the Partyflock agenda but that doesn’t sort the events by genre so you would have to look on the main forum which is all in Dutch for the more esoteric events. But if you do not know any Dutch, I think Q dance and slam do much of their publicity in English.
January 20, 2013 at 2:51 pm #1062692ah the lack of hardstyle here is bad, but i think that now people like showtek are collaborating with more people it may eventually become accepted, fingers crossed eh.
January 20, 2013 at 3:05 pm #1062582You can sometimes find hardstyle events in the North of England and Scotland, though they are less common in the South. In fact I’ve most often heard it at unlicensed events or legal events run by free party crews. If you are in London or the East of the country then it might even be cheaper to go partying in NL!
The difference between acceptance/tolerance affects all music genres and we are now about 10 years behind Holland as far as that is concerned.
People there don’t need to break into warehouses to hold parties as they can clearly get the funding to legitimately rent one and turn it into a safe and fun venue. I only realised this since 2008 when I randomly decided to learn Dutch – although this was more because of my other interests in electronics and technology (as thats a popular hobby in NL too) it means I can delve a little deeper into how and why its so easy to have dance events there but here in England its much harder.
January 20, 2013 at 6:05 pm #1062693Shall be off to holland asap
