August 16, 2007 at 12:08 pm #1118323It’s all a load of marketing machine bullshite. Some of the bands who are classed as nu-rave probably hate the label.
I’ve liked Kasabian for a while now but apparently they are nu-rave too.
I should imagine we feel the same as the true hip-hopers when people like vanilla ice and mc hammer came around.
Although, like starlaugh says, if they enjoy it then let them get on with it.

August 16, 2007 at 4:40 pm #1118341The Nu-rave term apparently came about in an interview with NME when one of the Klaxons said “new wave” and it was mis-heard / mis-interpeted as “nu-rave” and since then the label stuck.
Kasabian surely don’t get labelled as Nu Rave by anyone??
What annoys me is that the Klaxons actually have the cheek to say that the songs they are sampling / ripping off were shit and they’ve made them into decent tracks. A bit of respect for the original tracks and artists would be good.
