If they persist I just shout at them to fuck off and hassle someone else. Its not just that I don’t like people coming into my house unless I trust them its more that I can’tr be arsed gettin dressed.
i often find myself waking up on the sofa to a loud knock or the doorbell and i completly agree clothes are a massive hassel

December 2, 2007 at 8:04 pm #1125383I had someone ask stuff like this before, I just said that I do not officially exist. Not much they can say to that tbh.

this is probably what the survey is about

but if you tell them you won’t fill it in because you are concerned about the risk of data loss, then they have to feed back that response to the survey managers 😉

or old people, and those people who just want to whinge about the government/society and think the ONS person (as a servant of that government) can “make their voice heard” …
its a bit worrying if the statistics are actually used to influence any government policy
That said I expect ONS observers are used to having people refuse, same as other cold callers and are trained to just move on to the next building, and will keep doing so for as long as the govt encourages this form of survey.
I think though if enough people actually complained about the small surveys and refused to complete them (they depend on the goodwill of citizens which has been lost thanks to govt incompetence), they could eventually get stopped.
the surveys must be expensive to carry out and budgets are always being slashed, so if they don’t deliver any decent results why spend taxpayers money on them?
The only compulsory survey in this country is the Census..

:groucho: I speak to them – I am taking part in a study right now [halfway through the study and I have been doing it for 6 years already] What are you saying about me? :laugh_at: :laugh_at::laugh_at:
If we never speak to them how will our point of view be represented? if at all…?

He made up some shit about dogs trust do i want to donate i said no tar. He then said come on save a dogs life then tried next doors door handle, then he did one. I watched him go down the road trying every other door. Now im pretty sure charity groups go round in groups so they can cover more area. Anyway long story short im not a fan of the police, but i felt like i better tell them, just in case he battered some old lady or something. It does sound a bit dodge if they are being that persistant. Ring the number if it is dodge pour a bottle of piss out the window next time!
