I remember the DNS attack a couple of years ago or so where they took down 7 or the 13 root servers. That was pretty impressive because back then it actually affected lots of peoples access to sites all over the world.
These days though the DNS servers are constantly being improved and made more resiliant to these attacks. Its probably not worth even trying. The article mentions they were only attacking the .org registry (and a few others) so its not really news. I certainly didn’t notice any disruption to my interweb.
