that was all professional sports until the 1980s or so, until the body count got too high from people overexerting themselves and suffering major organ failure…
Even today there is a ton of doping in sports, particularly athletics and cycling, particularly amateur tournaments as they can’t often afford the tests.
An old speed dealer I once knew said he used to serve up loads to lots of sporty types you’d never think would touch the stuff.
