tappa zukieMay 26, 2008 at 10:36 pm #1172823Have you checked out Far Too Loud? They mix breaks with psytrance; the fusion really works.
A really, really good psytrance album I’ve been listening to lately is ‘Inside the Sound’ by Ananda Shake (their latest album, I believe). All of the songs build up well and have interesting/unique melodic parts 3/4 of the way through. Really good stuff. Oh, and their remix of ‘Spiritual Healing’ by The Muses Rapt is soooo energetic.
As for psytrance in general, I recommend A.X.L., Astral Projection, 1200 Micrograms, Shiva Shidapu (they do a fantastic remix of ‘Spiritual Healing’ too), Bizarre Contact, Electro Sun, Electric Universe, Space Tribe (their collaborative album with Electric Universe = sex), Mekkanikka (interesting basslines!), Green Nuns of the Revolution, Rastaliens…
If y’like dark psy, check out Loads of decent dark psy stuff too: Fungus Funk, Narcosis, N3xu5, Isentropic, Silent Horror, Para Halu (some of their stuff is quite techy as well)…

Try the radio downloads if you havent already and try and lock in for my fortnightly sunday show as I can be pretty eclectic in what I play.
May 27, 2008 at 11:34 am #1172825Liquid Soul‘s ‘Synthetic Vibes’ is a brilliant progressive psy album
and Headroom‘s ‘Artelligent’, that’s quality too.
May 27, 2008 at 11:38 am #1172826My favourite way of finding new music is just browsing MySpace ๐
Found tons through doing that.. And looking at the line-ups for festivals etc. i’m going to, checking them out, checking out their top friends and so on. Far Too Loud you’ve gotta give them a go; all the psychedelia from psytrance but with no trance, just pure breakbeat, it’s quality!
May 27, 2008 at 11:43 am #1172827As for dubstep, you’ve probably got it but, BURIAL-UNTRUE is a work of art. If not just download the song ‘Archangel’ by Burial. It’s :bounce_g: magnificent.
