Oh I agree, good idea but realisticly I wouldn’t expect someone to hire the soundsystem again if I made their dj’s use a mixer with no eq.
October 24, 2006 at 7:33 pm #1092763I dont hire my rig anymore Bio
I got fed up of trying to get more than £5 an hour for it :you_crazy:you_crazy:you_crazy – i wont even pack it for that kind of money [esp as it usually comes with live band work which is a total pain in the nuts WRT sound checks and getting the musicians to do one]Down here they all think they can do the sound engineers job better themselves and dont see why they should pay to hire a half decent rig when they can link up their guitar amps and that does the same job dunnit? :you_crazy:you_crazy:you_crazy
October 24, 2006 at 7:35 pm #1092764the bandridge is kept for when my rig is out and playing dance music and the dj cant be trusted to not fiddle excessively with the eqs – if they were paying to hire my rig it might be a little different 😉

Quote:Down here they all think they can do the sound engineers job better themselvesDidn’t you know that if you play an instrument or mix records then you are automatically a fully qualified and experienced sound engineer?

used to do my head in – nowadays i keep my rig for dance music :bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl

Thought yours was a 500 Raj???
I’ll get some pics of ma gear up soon.. still need to set it all up.. got the electric piano being picked up from the parentals place this weekend.. woohoo.. raaaraaa
October 24, 2006 at 10:01 pm #1092766could well be a 500 – it the mostly bombproof one and i never see it unless i am using it and then only the flashing green [not red!] lights
:laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:
and thats when i can see it :groucho:
October 24, 2006 at 10:02 pm #1092744:laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:Yeah urs is defo the 500 the one that weighs more and is more robust 😉
October 24, 2006 at 10:08 pm #1092767goes to show how much attention i was paying to it :laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:
its mostly wasted on me anyway – dont use the eqs, rarely use the effects, etc etc but i do like the xlr outputs
/me slavers over balanced line outputs :laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:October 24, 2006 at 10:21 pm #1092745:laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:
Yup i know thats why i got this off a mate.. http://www.allen-heath.com/UK/xone464.asp
It needs some TLC its had a bit of a hard life but i’ll restore it to its former glory.. gonna be great for all the live gear… he wanted it out the way coz he kept trippin over it.. haha.. so gave it away to someone who would love it more than him.. coz he’s got some dodgy digital mixer now…
