anyone got any idea what kind of generator id need to run two behringer 1400 watt amps and a set of decks. i kinda need something cheap, is it better to hire or buy on ebay or whatever??
May 9, 2006 at 10:02 pm #10727612.5kva will do you nicely.
I’m not sure what the hire price is on a 2.5kva diesel genny but if you are going to use it a few more times I’d definately just invest in one.
May 9, 2006 at 10:03 pm #1072767We dont need a gennie tom just wind briggsy up enough and then stick a plug in his head. Sure there will be more than enough energy from that.YOU CUNTSSSS!!!!!!!
May 10, 2006 at 6:58 am #1072765lol, if all i need is around 2.5kva then thats ideal they seem quite cheap and well within the price range we have. do they have normal 3 pin plugs on them or will i need an adapter??
May 10, 2006 at 1:22 pm #1072762Chances are you will need to adapt the connection yes. Almost all generators are fitted with Ceeform connections either 16a 32a or 64a. Chances are a 2.5kva will be fitted with a 16a ceeform. Ask when you hire (or buy) for a suitable 16a/32a to 13a distribution unit.
May 10, 2006 at 1:32 pm #1072770look mate jus get some info from someone on a buildin site an there full of big generaters big enough to power anythin. find a way to get in and bingo! it will take two to carry it but easy enough. ps write back if that works and invite me to your party

Not clever.

and that is why today we get even more riot cops shutting down our raves and confiscating stuff
One of the most common reasons given for seizing equipment by the cops is that “the generator may be stolen”. They then can claim the right to seize more stuff (over and above the existing CJA laws) as they can say “how much else of this kit could be stolen?”
You can get in way more shit for stealing a genset than you can for putting on a rave…most building sites I see these days are far better secured anyway and stuff like gensets are chained up and tagged (including covert tags and RFID chips)

I am not up for getting my scoops conviscated by O.B. over a genny, will be easy enough just to buy one.
